My son breaks out when the buttons on his jean touch his belly.  He gets a rash there.  The pediatrician noticed it at his physical and said it is extremely common and he sees it all the time.  My son's legs are rashy as well, somewhat.  Just dry and itchy a bit, but not too bad.

He had his heavy metals measured once and he had nickel toxicity.  But we just used to try to cover his buttons.  Is there something we can do?  P.S.  Explains why I could never keep my ears pierced, they always got infected and rashy.

Thanks for any info!

make relish type pesto side dishes using chelating herbs, like cilantro and parsley...etc

from Heidi s column:
Quoted Text
For heavy-metal detox, I'd start using the harmless "chelating pesto" daily. The ideal recipe for an O non would be: 3 handfuls of cilantro (coriander leaf); one handful of parsley; six cloves of garlic; one handful of dried or toasted pumpkin (or winter squash) seeds in the shells; 1/2 teaspoon sea salt; 1/2 cup of olive oil. Whiz the garlic, seeds and salt in the food processor or blender until they're the texture of coarse sand. Add the olive oil, then the greens, and process till it's a puffy light-green thick paste. It keeps well for a week or so in the fridge. The size of your handfuls, cloves, etc. can vary, so adjust this recipe at will. I'd take a tablespoon in the morning and one in the evening. You can use it as a condiment instead of taking it "straight," and feel free to add enough oil to make a sauce or a dressing -- it's great on plain broiled fish, or thinned as a salad topping or a sauce for warm root vegetables. Just see to it that you consume two tablespoons every day. It's a great start, and it's gentle yet effective.

For work I used to keep a small notepad in my chest pocket...
until I realized the metal spiral spring was giving me a rash on my chest.

In fact some of the notepads spring would actually rust, who knows how that reacts with sweat and the body?...

Paint a varnish or shellac the inside of the snaps - also the pants worn by climbers tend to use velcro instead of snaps, and there is kids sizes these days.

Years ago I had to stop wearing my wedding ring, as I developed a white scaly ring on my finger.  It is white gold, which I understand is gold with nickel.....I always get non allergic earrings, too.  Wonder what  else has nickel in it...

That makes sense, I had tons of work before I was even 20...yikes.  I am going to try to make Heidi's pesto (above).  It sounds delish.  I think I need to get a new blender, mine does not seem to work well unless there is lots of liquid in it.

When I was in college I had a gold plated ring that burned my hand.  It started on the ring finger then spread to all the other fingers on my hand.  I had lots of dental fillings, but I also have the nickel allergy. The electromagnetic process of the plating caused the problem along with the wearing away of the thin layer of gold.   My wedding ring had to be 18 ct gold.  I only wear gold earrings and rarely 2 days in a row.  I have to wear watches with NO metal, not the back or the adjustment knob.  Swatch makes some nice watches within my price range.  I can also wear the cheap rubber sports watches, but they don’t look too professional at a business meeting.

I also have a severe nickel allergy. When nickel does come in contact with the skin... sometimes using clear nail polish on the metal helps to provide a protective coating.

Two terrible red scarrings on my hand palms  last January and the right foot cracked skin were caused by nickel allergy and  I did not reacted to other allergens in the allergy tests, but protecting tthe skin with a lot of good cream often has cured it.
I have 5 fillings from twenty years and I have not had this problems before; I guess stress and too frequent washing have their role in it.
Ear rings are not a big problem, after the hole was cicatrized (very long) and I must not be without ear rings too much or the hole close now !

Use the following link to read about allergy elimination.  There is a practitioner locator on the web site.  I used this technique to get rid of many allergies prior to BTD...  In fact, it was in this office that I heard about BTD...

Thanks so much Lola for bringing forward this invaluable info. I know coriander and parsley and garlic are very powerful, still it's amazing how much they can do for you.
Thanks Tina for the thread!!

its not just nickel that can be the problem...any gold under 22 carat is very hard to discern what all it has been blended with.

People have even gotten cancer from low-quality gold jewellery - as it had been blended with some radioactive isotope of some metal.
