I just can't imagine giving up my fruit but I know I must. What kind of snacks can I bring to work as I currently 'need' to snack during the morning and sometimes in the afternoon.

Well, I wouldn't go hog out on carrots. Just listen to your body. Personally, I go hog out on baby broccoli. Here is the dietary recommendations from one site: Dr. Cranton's Candida DietI'd take those recommendations, and adapt it to your Type O Diet. |

I have also been trying to eat for my blood type, (o) and also to follow the candida diet on http://www.WholeApproach.com. I am not taking any of the products they sell. I found every web site had a different list of foods and I was going crazy with what I could and could not eat. This list is easy to follow and also some freedom. Looks like this is going to be a long process of doing without grains, fruits and sugar, but I am loosing weight, so I guess there is some good in everything. This whole candida/thrush problem has reminded me that I need to know my secretor status. Is it really worth the money? |

Meribelle; thank you for that link. I've just received my food allergy blood testing results and this weekend I've been preparing foods in order to do a 4 day rotation diet ... now I find that I've cooked a lot of the wrong foods. Oh well, next time around I'll change that ... I've selected the wrong veggies like beets and carrots.
I'm trying to figure out what to eat for breakfast ... I don't have time for meat and veggies and want something quick and easy. Previous quick n easy was a smoothie with pineapple juice, banana and egg ... guess where all 3 of those sit on my allergy list ??? Not exact good for eliminating candida either so they are out of my list of available foods. I had puffed rice with rice milk and blueberries today. Don't know what it will be tomorrow.
I bought a goatmilk yogurt to try. I like goatmilk cheese but I don't know if I'll be keen on the yo. However, it's all been an adventure and I've had some great health improvements and lost a lot of weight so I'll grin n bear it and venture into the yogurt. Who knows, I may love it.

I found all the different "do"and "don't" lists of candida foods very confusing. I really believe in the BTD and am surprised that I could have gottent this Candida thing since I was eating mostly correctly. I was having white painful patches on the inside of the lips of my mouth, and I wanted to get better, so I started taking Silver Hydrosol and eating by the lists on whole approach.com. I got better, so I went crazy for a day and ate blueberry cobbler and nachos and cheese nips. Two days later I have nasty white patches and painful lips again. Now I have been to the doctor and am back eating on teh whole approach lists. It is hard not to eat what other people eat, but if it keeps me looking normal in my face, I will do it. So that's my story. Good luck. I ate cow yogurt from the health food store about the same time my lips got bad again, so I think I will steer clear of yogurt for a while. |

meribelle; I put a poultice over my eyes every night for an hour to rid the puffy eyelids and the rosacea that flared up ... it's working ... it's very time consuming to make the poultice and do the hour of quiet time but it has certainly taken the pain out of my eyes and the rosacea is no longer visible. We do what we have to do to stay healthy. My GP was suggesting I would soon need an eye lift ... she'll be surprised to see me in a couple of weeks when I go for my annual !! She'll be able to completely see both of my pupils!
Had the goatmilk yogurt this morning ... a little goaty tasting but not too bad. I like goatmilk cheeses. |

Coleen, You're probably already aware of this, but just in case . . . yogurt is an avoid for both secretors and nonnie O's. |

It is good to hear from you guys. Sometimes I get in a funk about this Candida thing. I get into pity and then I remember that it took me a while to get to this place and it will take me a while to get out of it. I just wish there was more on this site about what to eat and not eat with Candida. I was able to find Dr. D's protocol for Candida and I am sure it is good, but money is not plentiful and all those things he listed looked complex.
My latest problem is that my face has broken out. I guess when I stopped my face antibiotic from the dermatologist, my acne decided to emerge. I am still mostly constipated since prunes, and prune juice are off limits. I am eating more raw veggies than I ever did and drinking a lot of water.
My size has decreased a little, however, so I guess I can be thankful for that.
Well, that's all for now.
This morning I did the spit test and good ol' Candida was still there. I am taking some lozenges 5 times a day which the doctor prescribed, but Candida is still there. |

I drink them in water. I had some this morning. I paid a fortune for some thing called Fiber Sure which is ground flax seeds and other stuff. I think it was a mistake, because after I used it for a few days (with no success, I might add!) my face broke out horrible.
I have heard and read about Candida die off, but I don't think mine are dead, unless zits are caused by dead candida.
And then there is is the issue of taking my lunch to work every day. I used to take Ezekiel bread and some lunch meat, but the bread has yeast and the lunch meat has sugar.
This morning had celery for breakfast!
What an adventure in eating this is. Think I will go drink some flax seed. Thanks. |

Funny you should ask, I just realized that it is called FiberSmart. But the ingredients in FiberSmart are a Proprierary Blend of Flax Seed, Guar Gum Seed, Glutamine, Fructooligosaccharides, and a Probiotic Proprietary Blend of L. Acidophilus, B. bifidum, B. infantis, Fennnel Seed, Marshmallow Root, Slippery Elm Bark, Triphala and Stevia rebaudiana leaf.
I don't think O's can have guar gum, but it was a foolish act of desparation. That is the second financial mistake this condition has cost me. The first was something called Sovereign Silver, which is supposed to be better than plan Colloidal Silver.
I guess people just see me coming. I have to forgive myself. right? |

Meribelle: have you tried drinking 2 cups of hot water before bed and then 1 cup first thing in the morning with the juice of fresh lemon in it ?? This is recommended to help clear up acne. I actually did it for a while but used bottled organic lemon juice. I think it was GlitterGal who recommended this to me and my complexion cleared.
I don't understand where threads are supposed to be. I just start a thread by clicking on "new thread" at the bottom of an existing thread...I can't find any other place to start. How they end up as one type or another is beyond my understanding of how things work out here. Sorry if I'm causing stress to some.
If O Secretors can have goatmilk some of the time why can't we have goatmilk yogurt some of the time? |

No stress at all Coleen. I moved this thread to The Encyclopedia, because it is about health issues. If you go to the top of this page, and click on Index, it will show you all the different Boards that we can post under. Just click on the one that interests you, and it will give you the option of starting a new thread in that Board. If you imagine a big room with a lot of message boards, and each one is labled differently, Cooking, Health Problems, Food issues, etc. You can go to the message board that relates to what you want to discuss, and post your note on the bulletin board for others to see. The main advantage is that people who have a similiar interest can find your note and respond to it easier. As I said before, no stress. That is one of the reasons Forum Moderators hang around. Besides we like to visit, also. |

This is where is gets confusing. I can have lemons if I am an O, but on the Candida diet, I am not supposed to have fruit. HELP. But I will try it anyway. I don't like my face broken out. Thanks. And, for the record, I did not know how to start a new thread either.!! |

Giving up fruit didn't really help me, it help with the candida but made my health worse. What worked for me was limiting your fruit and starchy foods and taking acidophilus before every meal and brewer's yeast after. Molybenum helped with the die off effect. |
