I've struggled with dandruff my whole life. Since I've started the BTD it has helped a little but it still comes and goes. I know I have to stay away from avoids, but has anyone here narrowed it down at all. |

Tea tree oil shampoo might be helpful. Balancing out sugars is another area to consider by focusing on fresh fruit instead of dried fruits and sweeteners. The exception on sweeteners being vegetable glycerine. Also, include high quality fats/oils in your diet such as ghee, olive oil, beneficial nuts, turkey, etc. |

Also, emphasize omega-3 fats, three grams/day. Omega 3's are great for the skin and hair and fighting inflammation. |

Use a shampoo with a ph balance. I don't use conditioner. It tend to weigh my hair down and look oily which is why dandruff occurs. An over production of oil. Use products that are light and gentle on the scalp. |

Thanks for all the replies. The first thing I'm gonna do then is cut out all refined sugars. It shouldn't be too hard. The only thing I eat that have sugar are the rice chex I've been eating almost every day for the past few months and the vanilla soy milk I've been putting on it. |

Whenever I eat something with dairy in it I tend to get an itchy scalp and the dandruff returns. Debra |

Here I am, friends light tiny areas of dermatitis seborrhoica(rearly) and dry dandruff on the scalp (often recurring) could be zinc deficiency? The diet has helped me in many ways, but may be dairy and other avoids ( I am compliant at 80 %) also for me are scalp damaging ! Please on zinc, if someone knows he or she can confirm zinc role in scalp and skin condition. Maria Giovanna |

Hmm I did start eating a small cup of yogurt once maybe twice a week, a couple months ago. Other than that I dont eat dairy at all. Maybe that could be the problem. |
