hi all! I wasn't really sure where to write this, but I think here it fits best, even though it isn't really a disease. The problem is: lately my hairline has been receding quite quickly, and it is quite obvious I am on the road to baldness. The thing is: I'm only 25 and I feel I am too young for this!! Unfortunately it runs in my family, with my brother, who is 30 ,being almost completely bald. Also, my mother's father was a baldy man. So, is it inevitable that I will go bald one day due to my genes or can I do anything to at least slow it down a bit? Anything B-specific I can do here? thanks a lot |

Try biotin...like 5mg a day with 3mg of folic acid...60mg of zinc daily with some copper. biotin 5mg /day with a high potency B complex 2-3 capsules/day as well a result of thyroid hormone problems. You might want to read this: http://thyroid.about.com/cs/symptomsproblems/a/hairloss.htmDiabetes control and longevity would better be served by using a daily supplement of zinc ... from 15-25mg each day + about 1/10th of that in copper + & 200mg of taurine (usually found in meat).

Dr D: -help ur hair growth “from the outside”, try a hair potion out of oil of rosemary, glycerine and oil of bergamot.
To eight ounces of distilled water, add 15 drops oil of bergamot, 1 tblsp glycerine and 10 drops oil of rosemary. Apply this to the scalp before bed, accompanied with vigorous scalp massage in the direction from forehead to the back of the head.

thank you lola. i'll just have a try, maybe your advice works. And if not, then I will go with mikeo's advice most definitely. My brother doesn't shave his head, but he has light blond hair so it doesnt matter that much. I have brown hair and I think it would look kinda stupid if I didnt shave it. Actually I always thought men with shaved heads look kinda cool and it's also popular with the ladies from what I've heard And all the smileys on this forum are shaved too and the look really cute. But what I think looks extremely stupid is if bald man comb their remaining hair over their bald head to make the impression that they are not bald. Do you know what I mean? That looks so darn stupid! |

Embrace your baldness. Think of it as an advanced evolutionary mutation allowing the brain to be solar powered. Well, that's what gets me through the day |

Well, in many cases, men with a lot of testosterone tend to lose their hair. That's why women like bald men! |

I think it's perfectly okay for many men to lose their hair. It's a man thing, after all! It's just terrible what some of our cultures do to guys, trying to sell them stuff to reverse or delay the inevitable! They look just fine without it. (Example: does Dr. Phil look like he needs any sympathy? He was bald before 30.) The following is a smiley suitable for comb-overs>>> I think lots of men and women need some time, often years, to make peace with the changes the years bring. Each decade brings us a new face in the mirror. It's just "you" evolving, embrace the changes. And wear hats when it's cold! vandelam 's got it right |

I agree. Most men with long hair they have an attitude which always bring in mind the song "you're so vain. don't you ....don't you...." Thank God not all long hair men remind me that. Be cool about. Ion |

My family, on both sides, were bald by their mid-20s as well, and at 25 it was receding as well...I switched to the Asian Veggie diet - basically seafood several times a week...And I still have hair in my late-30s. and I'm growing it long as well...
I find it humorous - in all the hair treatment ads and their description of the different hair follicles- the very adds themselves basically say that the fatty acidds from land-based meat will cause problems, and the lack of omega-3s from seafood causes the bald spot on top. |

Hey goredsox!!! You got some great advices!!! Yes I agree with you, the guys that cover up their baldness are so pathetic.. Besides MikeO is bald, and he just looks great!! Telly Savalas was one of the first baldies I saw on television.. Appealing to most women I dare say... For one thing, I definitely do not like guys with long hair... So.. rejoice over your baldness... Beautiful bald is not bad.... Hey don't forget to use some bodylotion on your head once bald.... Cocky |
