I'm going to use the "suggest a purchase" section of my public library's website, and see if I can get my library to carry these books. I was just about to ask about publisher name and ISBN number, when I realized I could easily find that information on the amazon.com website.

Does Dr D make more money when the books are ordered via DPN rather than another retailer such as amazon? Or does it not make a difference?

I cannot give the exact figures for this book. But usually some 10-50% of the price of book goes to the store selling the book.  Amazon can offer books 30% off if the list price includes a 50% cut for the store.

So obviously if you order from DPN they get that part of the price.

(At the moment the library would keep most of the retailers money ordering through DPN since DPN is selling at 40% off)

I neglected to mention, most libraries have regular vendors they use to get book. These are not necessarily cheaper than Amazon, but supply electronic MARC records (so they do not have to hand enter data in catalog) and other things libraries want.

So libraries do not necessarily buy books from vendors that patrons suggest, even when that vendor is a lot less than the library's regular vendor.

I have no control over the vendor the library chooses to use. But, if the library buys a copy, then another copy is sold, plus the information will get out to more people- who then may go on to follow BTD and/or purchase a copy of this book or others.

My question about vendors was separate; if I were to purchase a copy, or suggest one for a friend, does it matter where they buy it? I  guess the answer is "yes."

Just got my book, love, love it, great recipes. I'm going to start with the Blackstrap Cherry granola, as I know my husband will like it, made with crispy rice cereal and not oats. (I'd never thought of that) These books are at a fair price right from DPN. They  are just pretty, nice pictures. Got BD the O and an A/B for her husband. Ok Cherry Scones! Yes. Will work that on up soon.

Ok, got to get school work done

There's an on-line version that I ordered when they first came out through Amazon for my Kindle if you can't get the printed version.

Thanks, Jane, but I don't have a Kindle. And even if I did, I'd really like the book!

I was hoping to see an actual recipe or two in Amazon's "Look Inside" feature, but, alas  .
Is there anywhere to do that?
Browsing is what leads to buying...for me, anyway,
