I just read that 95 % of the watermelons nutritional value is in teh skin.

Jay Kordich says this.

well my comments are if he is eating the skin , perhaps that's what's making him nuts lol, and his liver spots on his hand are a worry too.

anyway the question is is there any benefit in watermelon skin and what are the blood type relevance.

for example in my swami watermelon is diamond, but watermelon seeds are b;ack dots. and since dr d doesn't mention watermelon seeds i assume they are either neutral or not considered.

just thinking lol

I read a  book once where they ate watermelons then pickled the rinds. Other than that, I've never heard any reference to eating the bottom edge of the watermelon, and certainly not the skin itself!

I think it was one of the books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. She always included those kinds of details in her stories. Farmer Boy perhaps?

Assuming that you meant "skins" instead of "seeds" in the bold-ed position???

I've never heard of eating the skin...  We have made watermelon pickles using the rind.  A search for "watermelon pickles" will provide you with many recipes to review...

If I could stand the vinegar, I would make watermelon pickles every year!! Years ago, when I finally mastered what I considered the perfect crisp pickle, I found that I could not tolerate even a bite of them.

I consider watermelon rind (in its unpickled form) to have the same rating as watermelon.

The nutrient usually most noted in the rind is citrulline. Citrulline is found primarily in the white portion of the rind and the hard green outer skin of the fruit.
