De Bole's used to make this into a common "spaghetti" product back in the 1990's and it was 100% pure. I've had a row fighting against the addictiveness of my rice crust Pumpkin Pies, and want to switch crust recipies by Christmas.
If it's still by De Boles, well - Whole Foods and HEB ain't carrying it! (snooty snobs....they're helping to subsidize grains all over again in the cry of "gluten free!" *raising clenched fist*....
I hope I don't have to order online just for THIS, but I sure won't be growing it in my backyard either. Who has the pasta and the flour now? |

I have yet to find a good artichoke flour pasta. Does it even exist? |

When you do find it do not buy a lot of it - Most people do not like how it tastes. |

OVERHEARD ONE DAY AT AN FDA BOARD MEETING, 2010 "Hey fellas! Listen up! There's a new marketing trend called "inulin" - and we're going to be on board with this big time......this is very important, so ... (room lights dim)... I'llmake my PowerPoint presentation brief...(pointing with laser penlight) Ok. Here's INULIN. Now I know you've probably never heard of this substance before...but trust me...It's GOOD. GOOD STUFF. It's um....well currently you can find it in Metamucil and Splenda.....and um....he he....I don't think there's any of us in this room that hasn't used at least ONE of those products within the past 2 years!......( room guffaws ) Right, so...the absolute beauty of inulin, gentlemen, besides its "alleged" health benefits, is it DOUBLES the price of the food product it is packaged along with....!(hush falls over room again) Ok....so we know the first ones to fall in line with this marketing plan will actually be the people who want to oppose us on many of the stances we do take here...those companies who sell health food products over the internet ....(flips slide)...ok so here we have just one example of this already: something called "Jerusalem Artichoke flour". I don't know -- Irv, is that a Jewish food or....? (room guffaws).....Irv and I have been working on this project for months - we're so close now that I'm practically learning how to CONDUCT Bar-Mitzvah ceremonies because he's invited me to so many of them already!.....(room guffaws)....that Irv, he's terrific..never fails bringing me chopped chicken liver from the deli on a weekly basis...you've got a great family, Irv! (room gives brief applause)....Thanks, buddy.... So anyway, back to this inulin stuff. (flips slide). We're putting X amount of our investments into the Inulin market this year......so you might want to take some notes..... Are there any questions so far? YES? (man stands up) "What about other, pre-packaged foods found on your normal grocery shelf - is anyone taking a look at putting inulin into those? We're not going to be stuck for the next 5 years investing in something only "health food" stores are going to promote, are we?" That's a GOOD QUESTION...*who was that speaking - Mr. Thomas? Oh, ok...*.MR. THOMAS thanks for bringing that up because after a few more slides I'm going to have some speakers from the manufuacturers of DORITOES and EX-LAX come join us ....both are now leveraging their profits by closing up the obvious Generation Gap with the "benefits" of inulin as a part of their program, so.....they'll be able to answer some more of your questions too...... |
