After reading the "canned salmon" thread it made me think i want to start eating more canned salmon but i'm kind of clueless what to do with it. I've heard people mention that they make patties out of it, i searched here and the net but didn't find any compliant for gatherer's (most call for bread crumbs). Anyone have a recipe?. Thanks! I don't use bread crumbs. I chop up whatever veggies I feel like, usually this includes onion, add an egg or two and drop it by spoonfuls onto a lightly oiled griddle. You could also add a compliant flour if you wanted the patties to be firmer. Be creative, look at your list of beneficials, be sure to look at beneficial spices too, and go from there. |

here's mine
can salmon, finely chopped onion, garlic. bell peppers (sweet reds, orange, and yellow look nice) sea salt, paprika powder, turmeric, parsley, any other herbs you want, two eggs, leftover cooked rice, or oatmeal. The recipe on the can works well exchange the soda crackers with rice check cereal crumbled. I take off the skin, and give it and the juice to the dogs. We leave in the bones in. Shape into patties and fry in olive oil just like hamburgers. |

You could blend some puffed rice to make crumbs, if rice is compliant for you...
You can also make any compliant bread to use for crumbs...
I do like using vegetables, as well...
Part of this lifestyle is learning to put compliant foods together to make dishes or meals and continually making them better. |

Thanks for the recipes Deblynn & Grey Rabbit!. They sound so yummy!.
Good suggestion ABJoe, unfortunately rice is a black dot for me. I'm wondering if quinoa would be a good substitute for bread crumbs/rice?. |

I always use steamed sweet potato in my salmon cakes, with spring onion, an egg and a lil spelt flour to hold them in shape and prevent sticking to pan.
Love these with garlic yoghurt or coriander & lime. |

All the suggestions sound so good. I might try to add some almond flour to hold the patty together. |
