Can you freeze raw cows milk? If so, any special process, packaging? I am buying fairly large quantities because I have to drive a distance to get it.
I really want to find raw sheep and goat milk. It is illegal to sell where I am. If anyone knows of a source in South Carolina, close to NC, please let me know.

Would freezing raw cow's milk be any different to freezing normal cow's milk? I do the latter as my husband likes a small amount of milk & he never goes through it in time before the best before date, so I freeze small amounts... The only thing you have to watch is how you thaw it - best down in the fridge overnight or part of it can get slightly warm before the rest thaws...

I used to freeze raw human milk all the time. That's the only kind of milk I've ever had access to in raw form on a regular basis. I've also frozen pasturized cow's milk, back when I was on WIC and had to buy milk in set amounts at a time, even if we didn't quite need it yet. The thawed milk would have a slightly less smooth texture, but all we had to do was shake it before using and it was fine. I don't know if there would be any texture change with un-homogenized milk.
The key with freezing milk is to remember that it will expand when frozen. Whatever container you're using, make sure it's only filled up to 3/4 or 7/8 full, to allow room for expansion. If you're freezing in plastic bags, you generally don't have to worry about excess space because you need that much "wiggle room" to close the bag without spilling it. With rigid plastic or glass, you need to make a conscious effort to "not fill it all the way to the top."

Yes you can freeze it -follow Ruthiergirls suggestions. However full fat milk freezes better than low fat and is better for us B´s
I would use glass of BPA free containers for safetyr reasons.
- and I am green with envy- I got no raw milk source here
