I'm always looking for easy dressings, spices, marinades, etc. to perk up the basics.

I'm an A and I do eat a fair amount of chicken and turkey along with veggies.  Now alot of sauces and spices really work but if you're not in the mood to oven bake (especially during the hot summer months) this 3 ingredient dressing can give alot of flavor to poultry and alot of greens (broccoli, spinanch, salad greens, etc.)

The ingredients are: sesame seed oil, soy or tamari sauce, and honey.  For A Secretor's  these are all neutrals.

Tonight I had it with cold chicken breast pieces and a salad.  I mixed it in a small bowl and dipped the chicken pieces in it.

The honey was first, then sesame seed oil and then tamari.   The mix I got was a little sweet, with a hint of sesame oil and tempered with tamarai sauce.  That spells Asian.

Ume plum vinegar is yummy in place of the tamari for those of us who can't have soy.

Did you use the "toasted" sesame oil? That's where you get that "asian" flavor, but you have to use it very sparingly. Also, I'd amend the post to specify "toasted sesame oil" if that's what you use. The dressing sounds good.

Oh, was that my problem?  I bought some expensive sesame oil and it doesn't taste like anything.  I guess it wasn't toasted.  What a disappointment.

Just checked in the fridge and it is toasted sesame oil, San J.  Thanks for pointing that out.

So, anyone who wants to make an Asian style quick sauce should preferably use the toasted sesame oil.  It really does bring out the flavor.

I purposely didn't put in quantities of each ingredient added simply because it is according to the individual's taste.

It really is great for the summer time.

May be you'll want to try it again, Ribbit.

Hint:You add toasted sesame oil one drop at a time. It's that strong.
