my fist was the green one with three differnt seaweed/alges in it. i liked pickle juice (kosher anyway) and this was even better as i gave up sodas for the most part. can't have the pickles but i can have this oh happy day! our local hf store keeps a few but some guy insisted she get the citris flavor. to me that one tastes like lemon oil. i noticed when i went in yesterday that the only ones she had sold was the one i got to try. so, mean little weasel i am, i said, "i see that guy who insisted on the citris flavor didn't buy very many of them." lady"no he didn't and i don't really like citris flavored stuff much." i told her what i thought it tasted like and she pulled out a notbook ,"which one was it you wanted?" i told her mango or superberry or both i like a bottle every day if i can get it. i told her that when she said she had ordered the lemon one but she got mister insistants flavor instead of mine. oh well, looks like i'll be getting it now. |

I've only had blueberry and ginger store bought. Both were tasty. I split them into 3 servings each. 1 billion germies divided by 3. Hmmm... In case anyone is browsing this who hasn't tried it from the store. Treat the bottles gingerly. The cashier at the health food store told me all sorts of stories about spontaneous explosion of the bottles. |

Below is a copy of an email question and my response about Kombucha and probiotics. I wanted to post it here in case someone else might benefit or want to comment. Hi Shelley. I saw your post on the blood type group (I'm new) and wondered where you found out about Kombucha not being good for your blood type. I make kombucha and drink it all the time. I hate to not be able too drink it/ What do you eat/drink for pro-biotics? Thanks for your help. LynnetteHi Lynnette, I am fairly new to the BTD also. I am a Type B, Nomad and am really enjoying following this way of eating for my health. The Kombucha is listed as an avoid under the Medicinal Herbs on the Type B Caucasian food list. Below is the link directly to that page: http://www.uoregon.edu/~sshapiro/ER4YT/Type_B_Caucasian_Page_4.htmlAlso, on the Genotype diet for Nomad, Kombucha is listed under Beverages as an avoid with a black dot, which means to limit or avoid. For probiotics, I have Plain Original Kefir and/or plain greek yogurt on a daily basis. Of course I think another option is to supplement. But, I prefer to get nutrition from food as much as possible. Recently, I have been enjoying this Kefir recipe either for breakfast or mid-morning snack: 1/3 cup uncooked oatmeal, 2/3 cup plain Kefir, 1 Tbsp maple syrup. Mix these three ingredients together and then add fresh or frozen berries and let sit in the refrigerator at least 15 minutes or a few hours. It is simple, satisfying and tastes really good! I hope this is helpful. Have a blessed day and great weekend! Shelley |

mine never did fizz as far as i can tell. i have had the fizz taste but no actual fizz. i got tired of waiting the day i brought you the box and just put them all in the fridge. didn't you say the latest batch was showing more promise? i think we are waiting too long to bottle. the last one i opened was like drinking lemon juice concentrate! |

Well, I bought a bottle of Kombucha from the health food store. Could be the last. Decided not to make it since I decided 1/3 bottle once a week was good for me. The clerk said they and Whole Foods were not selling it anymore because the alcohol content was too high. I told the clerk how much I drank and she called me a lush. She was kidding of course... http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-1009/Kombucha-Update-Synergys-GT-Dave-Speaks.html |

Swami rules! Kombu is a neutral for me. But if I made it on my own, I figure it would be at least more beneficial.. green tea, agave, etc.
Eric, did you get the continuous brewer you were talking about getting from Getkombucha.com I want to know how that went, because I have been culturing one here at home but I think the half gallon jar does not like me. Anyone else got one going from kombucha mama or get kombucha? feed back please. thanks, angel |

I love my continuous brewer, I get 15 16oz bottles each week. (We have several cases of empty bottles from when we were buying the stuff) I also used the gal jars, but have cut back. I've learned that it fizzes for me better if we leave it stored out of the refrigerator longer. at least two weeks. |
