If you haven't tried buckwheat for breakfast please do.
It is sold in my local supermarket with the rice or just ask where it is kept.
Just cook it like oatmeal and add a dash of salt to the cooking water.

My Dad was Polish and this was one of the ethnic foods he fed us as kids. I never liked it but enjoy it now.

Yup, Dottie, buckwheat is good, I make my breakfast cereal with buckwheat, and quinona. I make enough for a few days, so it is quick in the morning. I add ground flax seed, a few dried apricots (snipped into bite size pieces) and some walnuts. This "mush" as my husband calls it really keeps me full till lunch time. Sometimes I skip the apricots and use my dad's homemade maple syrup instead, yum!

By the way, I really like your quote!

Another way to look at it is that between the A's and the secretor O's, a large majority of people can enjoy kasha!
