A little tip for the Bīs
Lots of seeds and oils are avoids and they mess up my body way more than avoid veggies or meat ! and while butter/ghee and olive oil in many ways suits me and my cooking fine - I do miss tahini, and sesame seed when I cook lebanese etc food
Yesterday I decided to do eggplant dip It calls for baked eggplant, lemon juice, tahini, garlic and olive oil- spices Instead of tahini and olive oil I used walnut oil and it was really good- I did not miss the tahini at all. BUT it has to be cold pressed walnut oil or the taste wonīt be nutty enough -( or healthy enough)
I have tried walnut oil in humous ( made with dry butterbeans/limabeans) as well and it is pretty good.
Even in Corean food - in dips it is a good substitute - BUT I still miss the crunchyness of the seeds...

Thanks for that great tip Henriette
I miss Tahini B-I-G T-I-M-E ...sigh ... at times I still have it though I must confess ... ESPECIALLY, when I go to the Chinese restaurant; they have these little deep fried rice balls with a bean paste inside that r rolled in sesame seeds ... soo incredibly delicious and I just can't help myself !! I don't really get any symptoms per say; however, since it's an AVOID, I do steer clear of it on a daily basis except like I said that once in a while weakness

Great tips! As an alternative to the ground walnuts that were suggested, you could use walnut "butter" (like peanut butter or almond butter, only made with walnuts) in place of the tahini, and the walnut oil in place of the olive oil if you wanted to (although I would go with olive oil, myself! ...but walnut oil is supposed to be very good for ya).
