How do you make cabbage taste good without black pepper or chicken bullion cubes? Or can I use the cubes?

As a type B or AB I wouldn't use chicken bullion cubes.

Years ago I used to make a dish that used apples and cabbage. Right now I don't know where that cookbook is. If I find it I will post the recipe.

Well you can use black pepper, if it is freshly ground. McCormick has peppercorns in a bottle with a built in grinder. Next you might want to try other ways of cooking it. Personally I prefer collards or kale myself but there might be some recipes for cabbage in the recipebase (click home icon at the top of the page then click on recipebase)or attached to cabbage in the tyebase(see icon at the top of the page).

Sounds yummi Joan.
It really depends on what kind of cabbage .
When it is really fresh tender spring cabbage/early summer- I just use water, butter and thyme and only cook very little.
When the cabbage is older I use beef stock and sometimes apples fried in butter and maplesirup added last.

Cabbage and white cheese sause are a hit with ( B) kids as well

You can make a cole slaw type salad with grated cabbage, thyme, pineapple chunks and yogurt.

Try cutting up or shredding some cabbage and then simmering it for about 40 minutes with lots of garlic;  once it's cooked, add some Olive oil, seasalt and cayenne pepper ... I love it !!

These are great ideas. I never thought about apples with cabbage. I can't wait to try some of these!

Need to be tart type of apples or the balance is wrong.
Garlic and warm cabbage - I have never tried that - thanks
- but I do make a tsaziki style cabbage dish in the early summer:
cut new cabbage ( I like the pointed spring cabbage)  very fine -sprinkle with seasalt
let it stand 20-30 min.
Rinse it and press out all water / cabbage liquid.
Make a dressing of yoghurt (fat greek style is best), garlic, fresh dill and a bit of olive oil maybe fresh pepper.
Mix with cabbage- it might not need more salt.

Taste good with bbqed meat.

Chinese wok cabbage.

Heat 1 tbsp of olive oil in the wok. Add finally cut cabbage and grated apple. Stir fry it for few minutes, than add half a small glass of dry white wine. Cover it and simmer for about ten minutes or until wine evaporates. Add any herb to your liking, salt and freshly ground red pepper.
It is very nice taste.

Have you tried wombok/chinese cabbage? It is sweeter and more delicate than the European cabbages and still beneficial for B secretors. Sliced finely and added to stir fries, soups or even stews/casseroles it takes only a few minutes to cook. I must admit that I love it just sauteed gently in butter with a very small amount of lemon juice. You can also eat it raw.

Certain vegetables, such as cabbage and/or spinach can block iodine absorption when eaten raw or unfermented.
