I found a recipe for Cranberry Pineapple mix on Recibase. I made it twice and it was almost too sour to eat without addition of sugar... I had some blueberries, so I added some, but it still needed more, so I added some fresh frozen figs from the freezer. It is still somewhat tart, but it goes really well on boiled sweet potato with some ghee or plain yogurt!
Oh, the recipe... 3 C. Cranberries 1 20oz. can crushed or chunk Pineapple in natural juice 1 C. frozen blueberries 1 or 2 fresh figs - frozen at this time of year.
Cook it all together until the cranberries pop and the figs break up. It is ready for use either warm or cold.
With the potato / fruit compote / yogurt, I usually have some turkey meat or eggs. It makes a great meal. |

Joe! My AB roomie, who does not follow the BTD at all, makes fruit mixes very much like this one (without blueberries, which she doesn't care for)! She is a total cranberry fanatic and throws them in everything. We often have pear/apple cobbler with cranberries added in, but I would never have thought of using them with figs and pineapple. Thanks! |

Brighid, Cranberries are Super Beneficial for ABs (in the Fatigue Book)... Your roomie may be following BTD some without knowing it, based on bodily demand... |
