Cannot remember who mentioned this, but I received my Greek Seasoning from Penzeys Spices today! I can't wait to try it out tonight as a salad dressing. I am still missing bleu cheese, but alas, I will survive. I will play around with the mixture using the seasoning and olive oil and lemon.  I also ordered some cayenne from them and some sea salt. I was very pleased with my order as they also tucked in a nice sized (1.1 oz) sample 'freebie'. Unfortunatly it consist of avoids, but I'm sure it will be used somewhere;) It is the 'apple spice' it contains: China cinnamon, korintje cinnamon, nutmeg, mace and cloves. Smells divine. It will be fantabulous in my pumpkin bread... I doubt I'll eat it, but I make it for the holidays. I might try replacing the flour with rice flour just to see.... any suggestions out there?
Thanks!
And Thanks to whomever it was that suggested the Penzey site

I glanced over at your screen avatar and noticed that you did not indicate your secretor status.  Therefore, to be on the cautious side, both O secretors and non secretors can use kamut, rye, amaranth, or rice flours.  O secretors have more flour options to choose from.  Please also note that if you are following any of the BTD Health books, your flour options will vary as well.

Follow the recipe for any traditional pumpkin bread and replace avoids with beneficial or neutral ingredients; I encourage you to check out the Recipe Index for sweet bread recipe ideas:

Thanks Alia, I will check it out. I have not had my secretor type tested yet.
Thanks again!

I think I was the one that mentioned it.  I hope you like it.  I love Penzey's - I have a friend in Des Moines, and he has his very own Penzeys Store

Did you see the recipe for pumpkin cake in the catalog in the box?  It looks yummy, and I'm trying to figure out how to tweak it.  I've already baked up some pumpkin, thanks to the folks on this board that inspired me to do it.  The cake has a cream cheese frosting.  Has anyone tried to make frosting with that soy cream cheese?

I find that soy cream cheese to be disgusting (and I love soy). If you can get some goat cheese, try mixing that with some silken tofu to get a similar texture. I've done this in the past and it works fine.

It is not my responsibility to convince anyone of anything.
