Diet Soda and Cardiovascular Events

New in Personalized Living Webzine:

Quoted Text
Findings presented at the American College of Cardiology 2014 Scientific Sessions, found that the consumption of diet soda is linked with an increase in heart disease and deaths related to cardiovascular events.

The results were found as part of an observational study of postmenopausal women who drank two or more diet sodas per day.  Compared to a similar group of women who did not drink soda.  The soda drinkers had a 30% change of having a heart attack and an elevated risk (50%) of dying from one!
