Your Blood Type and the Flu

New in Personalized Living Webzine:

Quoted from Gregory Kelly, ND
Quite a few different researchers have investigated blood type and influenza. The volume of research alone is almost enough to suggest strong blood type connections, but let’s look at the research just to be sure.

After exposure to the influenza virus, an immune process termed “seroconversion” should occur. This means that your immune system should be producing antibodies against the influenza virus. Researchers have found that after circulation of influenza A (type (H1N1) and (H3N2)) and influenza B viruses, the immune response (as measured in a rise in antihaemagglutinin antibodies against the virus) differ along blood type lines.

I felt the flu settling in last weekend. Shakey, achy, etc.

I eat healthy, and have also been supplementing with Proberry, Exacta, and Multimineral for about 2 months now. By taking it easy and not pushing myself, I beat it back. It never got a foothold with my immune system working so well. Never got overwhelmed, and felt fine after 3 days.

Ditto what Adam said!

As a child, the flu was the only illness I ever had!!!
Have not had it since just before BTD; more than 11 years ago!

Natalie,
I can only answer for myself but the only A relatives I have (all others are O)all got dangerously ill after receiving flu shots. Years ago( 1992), my grandmother(mom's mother) (now deceased) was the first. She never had another and was fine! Next, my mom and her brother ( 2003-2005) had the shots and each time got so sick they were hospitalized! These are all directly related blood relatives that share my blood type. After watching them go through that I decided I would keep myself as healthy as possible and vowed never to get a flu shot.

For me personally, I just don't see the need for a flu shot.  I can't even remember the last time I got the flu and it was way before I adopted the principles of the BTD/GTD/SWAMI.

Scary to hear about your relatives with the same blood type having to be hospitalized.

I had never had a flu shot in my life until I moved into a retirement home that has more than 400 residents. I read somewhere that when you live with lots of others, a flu shot is a good idea. Six months later (still not having had the flu shot, which is given in the residence and super easy to get) I came down with my first case of the flu, which wasn't fun, but I didn't go to the hospital. It decided to attack my throat because my singing voice wasn't as good thereafter, and I ran out of breath during lines of songs. Over time, that seems to have gone away, but I think I do have residual stuff from that, because my voice now easily "cracks" once in awhile in the middle of a note. I have now had three yearly flu shots, but they didn't seem to have any adverse effects.

Thanks for the replies that were sent to me.

Strangely enough, I think I have never had the flu since my first and only bout with Pneumonia. Thank God.

Rereading my SWAMI over the weekend, I see that Warriors do not get sick that often, so perhaps the reason I've not had the flu in a really long time is simply due to my Genotype.
