Well, having problems, some more severe than others after eating an avoid, can have their good points! And stiff joints for the older folks and sluggishness for the younger are very good motivators to GET MOVING!! One of my aunts knew this very well, and she had never heard of the D'Adamo diets! You would see her going lickety-split when she was over 85 years old simply because, as she said, if she didn't move, the time would come when she couldn't move at all!
