Healthy Hot “Cocoa”

New in Personalized Living Webzine:

Quoted Text
Kids (and many adults!) just love a comforting cup of hot cocoa!  It’s a staple in our house after outdoor winter fun!  Instead of the processed powdered hot chocolate mix that’s sold in supermarkets try our healthier version.  Made with D’Adamo Personalized Nutrition’s Carob Extract and a right for your type milk, it’s loaded with beneficial ingredients that you’ll feel good about giving to your family!

I don't need any "milk" in my hot cocoa.

I have two basic recipes. The first is just hot water with cocoa powder and molasses stirred in.

The second recipe is a bit more complex; first I brew peppermint tea, then add cocoa powder and agave to it.

Either one should work with the carob extract in place of the cocoa powder, with or without added sweeteners.

I use a bit of ghee and a pinch of sea salt to give the vague sensation of milk or cream.

My SWAMI diet is a blend of BTD and GTD Explorer, but I'm not totally compliant.  Also I try to choose foods that have a Low Glycemic index.  DW and DD are A+, probably also Explorer.

Mine is soymilk (diamond), cocoa (superfood), and maple syrup (superfood).  But, that cocoa *really* jazzes up my system more than I need, so this is a once in a great while treat.

Here's my FABULOUS recipe:

1 Tbl Dr. D's Carob Extract
1-1/2 Tbl Unsweetened Chocolate Powder
2 cups Almond milk (or other compliant milk)
Stevia/Vegi Glycerine to taste (or other compliant sweetener)

Mix in small blender.
Heat in microwave or pan on stove.
Serves two.

It's quite orgasmic!!!
