Thanks C_Sharp.

45 second the longest! I thought 10 mins the optimal!

I see that the title says 7, and the benefits themselved packed in 5 groups. A figure here, a figure there.

I'm madly in love with Mr Ituri's green tea.  This is the only green tea I'll drink.

I thought these were the seven:

  • Green tea provides 25 times polyphenols of vitamin E
  • 100 times the antioxidant activity of vitamin C
  • It promotes growth of friendly intestinal bacteria
  • Green Tea decreases toxic bowel metabolites (like polyamines)
  • Promotes cardiovascular health, prevents blood cell aggregation and improves cholesterol metabolism
  • Inhibits toxin and carcinogen producing enzymes like ornithine decarboxylase
  • Epidemiological evidence suggests regular consumption of green tea reduces the risk of many cancers

But it is possible the original author meant another seven.

The Personalized Living Column was take from an article about Itaro Tea that is not online at the moment, so it is possible some benefits got left out when it was copied.

Expensive though...   Anyway, I enjoy much better just green tea w/o roasted brown rice.

From the label I learn that Kyoto, Nara, and Hokkaido prefectures are considered safe - an encouragement!

I miss very much my organic Japanese Sencha. I can get it in the organic stores, but am still reluctant. These days I drink Chinese green tea.

Oh, I agree!  It is so satisfying and I only drink plain green tea when I run out of Itaru's tea.

Is the Itaru tea low in fluoride? Has it been tested? I use another and matcha powder but have quit since reading another post on this site about the fluoride issue. I don't want to stress my thyroid with the fluoride. Sure would be nice to know.

I do not know the fluoride level of the Ituri product.

You might want to phone DNP to ask:

I still have my box of Uncle Li's Tea. Straight from China. They're sold at Fiesta and Kroger for $5 per 100 teabags.I wonder if it's high in flouride and pesticides.   I wonder if anyone bothered asking Uncle Li himself. I wonder if Uncle Li is a real person.
Is now a good time to switch brands?

Cheaper Teas tend to be higher in flouride.

I am unfamiliar with Uncle Li.

I did a quick search on line and found an "Uncle Lee" tea online boasted their "Tea is rich in natural fluoride ..." but does not give actual numbers.

Sounds like I should just buy the extract for awhile then, since I need to avoid flouride.

Yeah - the fluoride is a real problem. That stuff knocks your thyroid down a LOT.

They could not answer the question definitively. So...not any further ahead. I'll stay off of it.

The different opinions/suggestions for brewing time indicate that there are pros and cons behind it. Recently I saw in FB Dr. D's post re green tea strength, which to me hints that there is something for and against in it. Fluoride? Nuclear radiation?

After reading Ann's heart warming recent short article and Maura's recommendation I've reset my attitude, and here is my present morning green tea routine:

I take 2 china mags (beakers?) + strainers, and in them I brew green tea for a short time. I don't watch the clock, but it's closer to 45 secs than to 5 minutes. The tea I get is fine and tastier than ever, and I drink it in no time. Immediately after finishing the first batch I brew the same tea for a second time. This way, if needed or not - I prefer it this way - I easily have 4 cups of green tea almost before I can say Jack Robinson. With the green tea go morning supps which come 1 hour after the Trehalose Complex lemon water and 1/2 an hour before breakfast. Done!

After writing this I checked the local weather website, and humidity now is 31% - Eastern winds from the desert... hence my present enthusiasm.
