I've just bought The Genotype Diet and have one query with one of the questions which is important for me. Question 5 which asks about autoimmune diseases. I'm a Coeliac - does this count as an autoimmune disease for this question? My Dad had Colitis. I'm group O, Rh -ve and my ring fingers are both longer than my index fingers. So I'm obviously either a Hunter or an Explorer. My friends are going to help with the body measurements when I see them in 10 days time. I also have to work out my fingerprints. I'm an ectomorph - I'm quite small boned, but not tall. Don't know my secretor status, where do I get a kit in the UK to find this out? I've been following a Paleo diet for about 18 months now and feel very well on it, I just find this diet very interesting. I'm 70 and want to continue to feel well as long as possible.

Welcome Diana!

I am not qualified to give you medical advice, but I think others here will confirm to you that Coeliacs IS an auto-immune disorder, primarily exacerbated by wheat consumption (and all other gluten containing grains barley, rye and oats).

To be honest with you, I use Dr Tom Greenfield (based in Canterbury). He wrote the foreword to the Genotype Diet book you have. They are able to do the secretor test for you, and they can either provide access to a Swami Xpress (less technical at home version) OR Swami Full Genotype Consultation at the clinic (costs more but even more personalised).

Have a look at http://www.greenfields.co.uk

I did my secretor test with them and bought my SWAMI Xpress license. I live too far away from Canterbury to justify a clinic visit, but they're always really helpful.
