Hi everyone!

I wonder if someone can help me?  Is there an O genotype that can eat these foods?  I had nutritional response testing and I came out strong on these foods, which most of them are avoids as a general rule for Os.  I tested weak on eggs.

1.  avocado
2.  rice vinegar (I became weak with cider vinegar and rice pasta)
3.  mirin - rice wine
4.  white potato
5.  kiwi
6.  coconut aminos
7.  coconut flour
8.  coconut sugar

Thanks in advance for your help!

The avocado is ok .. if not every day..

all the others I am less aware of and as avoids I might never have them unless I cheat wich is never every day and more or less really seldom..

Eat and observe how you feel with one item at a time.. eat it for one day (alone that day - not mixed with other avoids)  and you will get a reaction .. judge on you not on others.

Good luck and report back.. please..

Hi everyone!

I wonder if someone can help me?  Is there an O genotype that can eat these foods?  I had nutritional response testing and I came out strong on these foods, which most of them are avoids as a general rule for Os.  I tested weak on eggs.

1.  avocado - Hunter-Black Dot; Gatherer-Black Dot; Explorer-Black Dot.
2.  rice vinegar (I became weak with cider vinegar and rice pasta)
Vinegar(all types) - Hunter-Avoid; Gatherer-Neutral; Explorer-???(ratings are split and none specific to rice vinegar.
3.  mirin - rice wine - Not rated as far as I know...
4.  white potato  - Hunter Avoid; Gatherer-Avoid; Explorer-Avoid.
5.  kiwi          - Hunter Avoid; Gatherer-Avoid; Explorer-Avoid.
6.  coconut aminos
7.  coconut flour - Hunter-Black Dot; Gatherer-Avoid; Explorer-Avoid.
8.  coconut sugar

I show the ratings per the book for each food requested...

All of the coconut "pieces" requested are from the meat, so that is the rating used...

This doesn't mean that this is how you specifically will respond to any or all of these foods.

Eat/Live Right 4 Your Type is a self-help program and only you are responsible for whether you get better or not, so whatever ways you modify the plan are acceptable - as long as you don't blame the plan when you don't get the results expected or desired...

I am an O non-secretor. Regretably, I do not do well with coconut. I get a bellyache.  It is an avoid on my SWAMI.

I suspect that I am.  I seem to need more protein and do fine with avocado.  Have not tried any coconut yet.

Interesting...I used some of the rice vinegar in a salad tonight and it made me crave ice-cream afterwards, which I did not eat.

I had done SWAMI 3 years ago.  I was typed as "explorer" but the food lists do not seem to fit me in terms of how I feel after eating them or via nutritional response testing.

I think I need to reevaluate.  Is it still possible and how would I go about this?

Avocadoes are OK for O nonnies, but not for O secretors. Nonnies are also able to have coconut OIL, but not the milk or the flour. The coconut aminos and sugar have not  been rated. I would assume that the coconut aminos (proteins from the coconuts themselves) would share a rating with coconut milk/meat/flour, but the sugar is made from the flowers and could have a very different chemical composition.

I personally don't think it's all that crazy that you do OK with rice wine, and the  vinegar made from it, even if "distilled spirits" and "vinegar" are not evaluated separately in BTD/GTD/SWAMI. Honestly, I think it's a little strange that rice vinegar is lumped in with distilled vinegar and red wine vinegar, etc. I avoid rice wine vinegar because SWAMI says to, but I've had it on occasion and noticed no problems whatsoever- which makes sense to me since I do fine on rice products.

Kiwi and potato are outright avoids for all Os and (I think) all genotypes that Os can be. But these might be foods that you don't personally have much of a reaction to.

Thank you, Ruthiegirl!  That was very helpful!

Strange thing....I felt nothing deleterious after eating the kiwi or the potato...I actually felt energized after eating potatoes.  I had been avoiding these foods for 4 years, due to them being on the avoids list.
