Hi,

I'd been over the archives searching for current information about GERD and the Hunter type.
I started the diet 3 days ago and so far what I have clearly noticed is the increase of energy I got. However, I have light GERD symptoms that I'd like to get rid of, and this has not changed yet. I read on the food list that Ghee is a diamond, but I was hesitant to use it because I am clearly lactose intolerant.
I was wondering if any member has any experience to share about this issues, GERD and the Hunter genotype.

Thank you,

Properly made ghee will be pure dairy fat...  So no lactose will be present.

Being here is invaluable, but not enough. We need ALL the Doctors. I needed them for a very small cancer spot-I could never feel!!! Please do your mammograms! Doing so saved me from cancer later on. I am grateful! Thanks for learning from my experience! I was lucky! I wish the same for YOU!

Goldie, you are funny! Anyway, I will try the apple, but later, the food list for Hunters shows apples with a dot. Supposedly, I should stick with the superfood and diamond food for now.

Whenever you feel that acid reflux is starting, take 1-2 capsules of Fucus Plus and it will probably stop. I had been suffering terribly for years, and started taking Fucus vesiculosus capsules upon reading Dr. D's advice in the book ER4YT. It works every single time and stops the reflux immediately.

Bladderwark, the algae from Fucus Plus, hasn't been studied on humans but just labs and animals. So, its effectiveness hasn't been proved. However, I eat a lot of kelp and seaweed everyday.

I found a few reliable and impressive studies about the use of Turmeric (and other species) to treat Pylori and other gastrointestinal issues. This is one of them: http://206.192.68.20/courses/f.....lantsHPylori2005.pdf
Manuka Honey is also another product that works great and it's been researched a lot.

The doctor advised eating 2- 3 hours before going to bed. However, I noticed that my symptoms get worse when my stomach is empty. More than 2 hours without eating makes my stomach very active and acidic. But taking a table spoon of Manuka Honey (grade 10+ or higher) plus a probiotic, right before going to sleep, makes a difference.

Anyway, if your case is different, and your reflux gets worse when you eat, you may do better going to sleep with your stomach empty.

Thank you all for your recommendations!

Hi Yaeli,

Thank you for your note
How long after you started with the diet it disappeared. Where you diagnosed with GERD. Also, in the mind time, how did you deal with the symptoms?

Hi,

You are welcome.

Hard to remember, no more than 1 year {added later: Now I remember, it must have been more like 2 months... I remember that I claimed the heavy attacks disappeared immediately when I started BTD. Still I must have continued to have easier reflux fits here and there}. I had been suffering many years. Yes I was diagnosed, and I was told that it was due to a small diaphragm hernia I had. The first severe attack happened in ??? 1997?? (I still have the documents with me somewhere, probably packed and tucked in the store room), 8 or 9 years before I started BTD. It happened towards noon, and I went straight down to ER after telling my boss I was fearing that I was having a heart attack. They took my BP several times - it soared because of the panic, and they told me to drink water and take a long rest. In the 2000's the attacks were becoming stronger and more and more frequent, and were very aggravating. I had no cure until I read ER4YT, and the rest I wrote above.

Yes thank God. Thank you for listening.

Dr. D's advices and supplements are beyond anything else I've heard or learnt ever before. With some of my personal health results and lab results all I could do was to pinch myself, so unbelievable they were.

So I have a friend with GERD, blood type O and I suspect he is a Hunter or Explorer Genotype.

What do you think is the worst thing for Os to eat that aggravates it? I'd like to give him something simple to try first if I can...

Some likely culprits include wheat, chocolate, chilies, oranges/juice, among other things.

To buy ghee, one usually needs to find an Indian foods market.

Most of us make our own ghee, however, because it isn't that hard, we know when and how it was made, and we get the satisfaction of doing it...

Dr. D. gives us a recipe:

Vera, I'm not a type O, but I did suffer from Gerd for most of my life.  Of course, during that time, I was eating totally wrong for my type.  I haven't been bothered with it for the past 15 years of working with Dr. D's programs, but my first year on this way of eating, I was not always compliant.  I learned over the months what was hurting me and what was making me healthy.

All wheat and gluten grains had to go, along with sugar, coffee, orange juice . . those were the worst.

I agree with everyone else regarding GERD culprits. However, I'd like to add white potatoes to the list - these we're the worst of the lot for setting me off 'back in the old days'.

Sory but I have one more question, do you stir it? I'm scared it will burn...

I never stirred ghee (20 years of making it).  Just keep the heat low - between simmer and low on my stovetop.

Stay close by so you can quickly remove from the heat when the sediment that sinks to the bottom turns golden.  Don't let it get dark and there's no danger of burning.
