As close as we can determine my sister in law is a GT1, Hunter - I told her I'd try to help her. She will get SWAMI as soon as she can. Also she will be here on the forum soon.
for now I will ask for her: Kombucha tea isn't in the book - how is it rated for Hunters? ( I know there is a lot more info since the book came out.)
Hunters - would you consider starting a "Hunters Support" thread and make it Sticky so future GT1's who come along can learn from you experience? Most of the other GT groups have one. It would be so helpful. |

The Genotype Diet book has beneficials and avoids listed; the neutrals remain unlisted. It can be hard to determine which items were tested and determined to be neutral, and which items were not tested at all. The only way to verify that a food item is a "neutral" is to find that food item listed as a "beneficial" or "avoid" for another genotype- that proves that the food was tested for all genotypes. If it's not listed under the "beneficial" or "avoid" list, then by definition it's neutral.
In the specific case of kombucha, it's listed as a "black dot" for Nomads, so we know it's been evaluated for GTD. Since it's not listed at all under any of the other 5 diets, we know it's neutral for everybody else.
I'm not sure why Lola said to look under the Explorer list. I wonder if she misread the entry for "tea, green, kukicha" or if she forgot which genotype had kombucha listed clearly.
Dr D learned how to better organize the food lists over time. The SWAMI software lists the beneficials and avoids along with another chart for neutrals. |

There are a couple hunter threads from the early part of the forum. If something gets participation we can sticky it. |

Thank you Ruthie and Lloyd Kombucha is a Diamond on my SWAMI program. But I wasn't sure that it had been tested back when the book was printed - it hadn't occured to me to look it up on the food list for the other GT's. That was a grt clue - good thinking. I'm sure the links Lola gave will be helpful |

If you have SWAMI, you follow that and ignore the food lists in the book. For those who don't (yet?) have SWAMI, this thread helps provide some clarity about the foods listed in the Genotype book. |

Kombucha tea CAN be a black dot for me if I don't check neither "Do you have a history of chronic fatigue" nor "Do you have a history of low grade infections". So kombucha is good for that kind of problems. |
