Hi Chloe, that is very good article and that is information I was looking for.

I am using Nutiva now and going to try Maison Orphee and Artisana.

Hi Cajon, I heard about oil pulling and was going to get sesame oil. But using coconut oil is excellent idea.

Thank you to both of you.

Would someone mind leading me to understanding the "oil pulling" I've seen mentioned here?
Thx from GZ!

You can Google it for more information, but here is one site describing what it is and some benefits:

In the morning on an empty stomach first thing.

put 1 tablespoon of either organic sesame oil or olive oil in you  mouth and swish it about between you teeth etc for a period of time

some say 3-5 mins some say 20 mins. I just do what ever I can.

some say swish hard some say swish gently again I do what ever I'm in the mood for.

when finished spit out in the bin or toilet not sink. don;t let oil splash in you r face as it may be full of toxins.

I wouldn't use sunflower oil.

Is there any reason not using sunflower oil?

I am using sesame oil now but was going to get sunflower oil.

Some web site I read sesame oil or sunflower oil are recommended for effectiveness.
If olive oil works well then that is my diamond.

Doing recommended 15 to 20 minutes is very difficult. I guess it needs time to practice.

Hi sunnyside!
I use sunflower oil. The first time I was introduced to the concept of oil pulling, that's what the gentleman recommended, but I don't remember specifically why..

p.s. My teeth are really white, aren't they

sunnyside - I usually buy it online (of course) at Mountain Rose Herbs, it is "partially refined". I've also gotten it at Whole Foods, but now that you mention it, that one's probably not unrefined.

I usually oil pull for about 7 minutes..mainly due to my not being able to breathe well through my nose! I like coconut oil or olive oil the best.

After I found out coconut oil can heal my mouth sore, I urged my husband to add it into his diet. He does not follow Geno type diet.

He is pre diabetic and struggling to get that under control. After he started taking it for a few days his fasting blood sugar stays under 100.

Taking coconut oil is only change he made last few days.

Every one is different but I want to share this.
