I know I need regular exercise to lower glucose levels and lose weight, but I wondered if others know *how* individual blood glucose levels can vary.  With only veggies and good proteins this week my levels are actually lower during the day and steady after meals, but they seem to be hightest in the middle of the night (about 3 am) and in the early AM.  Any thoughts from those who may have noticed an individual difference for various genotypes?

I seem to be freezing at about 3 am..

I seem to need to drink water during the night... don't like water during the day..

I wake up to pee at or around 3AM.. I think the liver, kidney and pancreas is resetting starting at that time of morning..

I think many hormones reset at that time of morning..

Tom...... If you are new here.. good luck and welcome..

I sleep very warm and comfortable under a down comforter and drink water throughout the day.  I'd like to find out whether it might be my individualistic norm for me.  Definitely want to get my glucose number down overall, but wondered if the behavior of my glucose levels might be specific to me or whether I may have a challenge with insulin levels.  I'm trying to understand how best to change my habits.

I never tested my blood sugar in the middle of the night, not even when I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and was told to test my BG four times a day. Of course, being pregnant, I was also snacking in the middle of the night- so no "fasting" blood glucose, really.

My diabetic mother only tests once a day, before breakfast. She's been doing that for about 10 years.

I'm not sure what high BG in the middle of the night means; it could be completely normal (making you feel "not hungry" as you sleep) or it could indicate that your levels aren't in balance yet. I'm not sure.
