Hi All,
Have a friend who I suspect is a non-secretor, probably Exploror, Type O.
I have known her for a long time, she has always had a lot of small health issues that plagued her-- I convinced her to quit dairy and wheat and a few other things some years ago , and since then she has done a lot of experimenting with her diet, but she is not bloodtype compliant at the moment. Eats potatoes, corn and occasionally ice cream, but not much other dairy. She has a history of bronchitis and mild respiratory stuff, inflammatory issues, etc. She is a VERY YOUNG 70, exercises regularly, etc. Right now she suffers from spastic bladder that they can find no reason for. (I will say as soon as we start talking it seems like she will mention some other issue that's bothering her.) She did decide to go off her testosterone, which they were giving her for weak muscles, and the bladder issues seeemed to improve. THey have her on a low dose of Valium and corn silk for the bladder.
Any ideas? I gave her some of my Schisandra tincture which many people use with good results and she had a reaction-- she took it on an empty stomach in grape juice (it's an alcohol tincture) and she has hypoglycemia issues, so I thought she might be reacting to that rather that the herb... but I am not sure what to do to help her.
It is hard to tell how much inflammation would be cleared up if she eliminated the avoids for her type. Obviously, SWAMI would be best to individualize her diet, but just following ER for Secretor would help significantly...

I agree with Joe, and want to add that cutting out potatoes and corn (without removing any other type O avoids) would probably do her a lot of good as well, even if she's not ready to fully embrace BTD. Even cutting out potatoes and obvious corn (ie, not worrying about corn starch or corn-based food additives) would likely do her good.

ruthiegirl, I think I may have convinced her about the corn, do you have some useful info about potatoes I could show her? Sometimes she is very open to my suggestions, but feels overwhelmed by too much change all at once. deblynn3, what is causticum? I am assuming it is a homeopathic? I am an herbalist but don't really do homeopathics.
Bearheart- Causticum is listed for people who lose urine when they are running, coughing, laughing, or sneezing. See if any of these fit. It is right sided so perhaps she might have some stiffness in right side of her neck, etc. It would be good to look this up on a homeopathic site.
here is one with a remedy finder which one of the boys gave to me from this forum.
