Paleo Diet anyone ever try? I have been on this anti-inflammatory diet since the 24th of June and so far it really has been useful. Yet I need to follow it in my Genotype. Anyone know of a quick reference that implements both?

In July version 2 of SWAMI Xpress will be released.

I think that that version will include the ability to specify that one wants a paleolithic diet.  (Since I have not seen this version - I am not sure what is included)

Currently in SWAMI GenoType (available from practitioners) you can specify paleolithic diets for type Os and type Bs. Since this diet system is not particularly healthful for type A and ABs, I do not believe it is available for those blood types.

I tried the Paleo Diet. Grokk-ing didn't work for me because of my bulimia - even on a low-carb, high protien cavewoman diet. My binging and vomiting was caused by BTD avoids that I knew nothing about from Paleo.Only Dr. D'Adamo can be relied on - so why would you want to break your head trying to reconcile 2 eating systems? Don't waste the time to do so.

Also - Paleo's exercise recommendations for everyone are absolutely false once you examine Dr. D'Adamo's findings both on Blood Types and Genotypes, and what kind of exercise is right for all the types of people that now exist on planet earth. Paleo - like 'the protien power diet' (that came before it) is not flexible enough for healing in today's modern world. But "Mark" markets it like there's no tomorrow. And he's slim enough and muscular enough in his photos to be believed.

Look at me today; no more binging and vomiting; a horrible disease cured.

You will advance far beyond your forum peers in Paleo if you stay over here; even if they start disagreeing with you.

It may be possible, A's can eat fish...they would just skew the diet to be lower in protein than the other types, and eat starch tubers instead of grains. I'm not Dr. D., mind you.... He's the final word.
As an O, I can eat Paleo, and do. But always respecting my swami.

  Have been on the SCD (specific carbohydrate diet ) to starve out "bad bugs"
, it has no grains. Has been very helpful . It can be paleo on the "legal" for for it. Was fun learning about bone broth...
  Trying to find  out about genotype and which I am using the book.
Not sure, as the options on basic search were several, seemed to be teacher.
Wish could find a forum that helped with that.

I think SWAMI Genotype allows practitioners to select some options that would be more helpful in reducing inflammation in As.  I don't know about SWAMI express.

Main strategy is to eliminate foods that cause the inflammation... Other than individual allergies, blood type avoids are the usual suspects....red meat can be a big problem for As.

Do you know your genotype?

I was on Paleo before I found  BTD. I did fairly well on it, which makes sense since I'm an O. I was still drinking coffee, coconut milk,and other avoids, but I eliminated potatoes and limited corn and wheat (and eventualy gave up wheat once it was a condiment, not a staple.) I did better on Paleo than I had on my prior grain-heavy diet, but not nearly as well as I did on BTD and then SWAMI.

BTD allowed me to re-introduce beans and a few cheeses, making my diet feel less restrictive.

Amen. I think one reason Dr. D. has handled the onslaught of opposition against him is the fact that it was altogether about learning instead of trying to figure out a way to please everyone!! When a man like Dr. D. starts with good facts and keeps building on them through research and experience, the "learning curve" goes out of sight!! Or "leaps" out of sight!! And combine this with ultra expertise in computer programming, WOW!!! I don't think there is a learning curve anywhere out there that can remotely compare!

I "thrived" on the Dr. Atkins diet when I was really young, if losing weight is "thriving." And it lasted a very short time indeed.

Even one food that is not on our diets can throw our entire efforts out the window if we eat it. Just once for some of us - according to what our health issues are.

You could "paleoize" any genotype diet.  They all have meats and or seafoods plus plant foods.  The carbs, which everyone has also, provide more energy to the muscles though, and gives more fiber and variety.

The original paleo diet is like what great apes today eat, which is almost all plant foods with some meat.  Different tribal people around the earth eat different types of diets, but all were not processed and there were not the chemicals that are found in some foods today.

That's exactly what works for me. As a hunter, it's the perfect combination! And if I want to sway a little, I know where to go according to my BT.  legumes, etc but I also feel I would be better off without them though I love my homemade hummus in small amounts. Peas and beans, though I love them, don't work so well. Paleo plan works like a charm, but so glad I know my BT specific foods! One plan wouldn't be as good without the other though I would still do fairly well on either, just not optimal

The last 2 weeks I have been eating paleo within my type O guidelines. I don't seem to digest any type of beans well (went on a hummus and raw veggie kick and added some belly, not good) and rice really bothers me. Seem to do okay on quinoa and buckwheat, but those aren't really grains. Weight loss is still not happening even after 4 years on ER4YBT/Swami, so the only thing to really do is take away. We will see how it goes?

Can't hurt for an O to do paleo, or a B, as long as they don't add in avoids (cauliflour is pretty common, coconut and coconut oil).  I'm finding lots of good BT O recipes in paleo cookbooks, just tweak some a little.  I'd rather use quinoa for rice or potatoes than use cauliflour though, and I'd keep some beans.  Rice doesn't work for me either, which is sad mainly because UNI bars have rice protein in them, and they were my go-to snack.

Paleo usually cuts out beans, so an A would have a tough time getting enough protein.  With BTD we know which beans cause inflammation for which type, so I'd just stick with the right beans.

There's some debate within the paleoanthropological community as to whether or not Australopithecus sediba is an actual forebear to the genus Homo. Even if it is so, the fact that Au. sediba thought bark was tasty enough to eat on a regular basis could be reason enough to justify a genetic fork (and why they don't even have their own GEICO commercials today).

I was just at a family reunion and my cousin-in-law and I were talking and he mentioned he had started the paleo diet and had lost 20 lbs so far.  It's not that it doesn't work, it just doesn't work for everyone especially Blood Type A's. " You will get initial results but most likely reach a plateau, get frustrated and then gain all the weight back and more.  The paleo diet is a one size fits all approach".  This was my advice.  Luckily he has been following my facebook postings and was interested to fing out more about ERFYT.  After about an hour of explaining ERFYT and answering all of his questions, he was convinced that giving up red meat and pork just might be the ticket.

Yes, people of all blood types are doing Paleo. People of all blood types are doing raw vegan diets too. That doesn't mean that everybody can THRIVE on such a diet, whether or not they lose some weight initially.

My SWAMI diet is a blend of BTD and GTD Explorer, but I'm not totally compliant.  Also I try to choose foods that have a Low Glycemic index.  DW and DD are A+, probably also Explorer.

Is it out yet?  If you've purchased it before can you get a download or do you have to buy it again?

Genotype diet.. still haven't figured out my secretor status (I have the test, just haven't done it) but have the Geno book (although it just got packed up).  I compared my fingers, legs, fingerprints and couldn't really tell where I fell.  I remember someone telling me that As could only be one or 2 types???  Was it warrior and teacher?  Some reason those stick in my head.. or am I wrong?  

I try to eat the A diet but also follow Alkaline diet which is pretty close.

I think the people from paleo times would love living today!  

A's can be warrior, teacher - which do better with a more A type diet - and explorers - which the regualar A diet is not that great for.  A explorers prob could hack a paleo diet better than a reg A diet.

But paleo diets are boring in my opinion - everyone has more superfoods than what a paleo diet affords.
