I long suspected I had thyroid problems, so I had my levels checked. They came back fine. TSH, T3, T4--all excellent thanks to Dr. D and his bladderwrack. My vitamin D is 75, too! Wow! I still wanted some Armour (natural thyroid hormones from pigs) from my doc, but she said she couldn't give that to me because of my lab results. However, I also got my prolactin and free testosterone checked. Testosterone was in range but still low. Prolactin was high (22 ng/mL in a range of 4.0-15.2). Help! I don't know what to do! I have been on this diet for so long and prolactin is still high? My fingerprints are fine and I feel better, but still have high levels? Please help me lower my prolactin! I will be very grateful. Symptoms: -Low libido -Need lots of sleep (10 hours to feel good) -Slight edema -Bags under eyes Classic hypothyroid symptoms. |

I hope you get better soon. Have you tried eliminating xenoestrogens? Plastics, parabens, etc. Men are also affected by xenostrogens these days. |

Lab tests are notorious for failing to detect thyroid conditions. The best way to check upon your thyroid function is taking your basal body temperature (Google is your friend) every morning upon waking. The average should be 97.6F or higher. Lower readings combined with symptoms of hypothyroidism pretty much guarantee hypothyroidism despite normal lab tests. Hypothyroidism symptoms include fatigue, weight gain in some cases, dry hair and skin, mental fogginess, insomnia, hair falling out, etc. |

Which diet are you following? Best to figure out why your prolactin is high and treat that rather than the symptom. Some things that might help lower prolactin: Chasteberry Zinc B 6Phenylalanine Tyrosine Vitamin E |

I have taken many bottles of calcium d-glucarate before the blood work. I also avoid plastics. |

You may be right, but my doctor will not put me on Armour. I would have to go see another doctor, probably. |

Chasteberry. For men?
Men do take it -- Most often to lower prostrate cancer risk. Some suggest it lowers libido, so you may not want to take it. It should lower prolactin some in either sex. |
