I never really drank coffee except briefly in my late teens. From age 20- present I have drank very little coffee. About a month ago or so I read this article stating that some coffee is better than others etc so I started drinking the organic dark roast at a nearby coffee place as part of a daily ritual. It didn't seem to bother me but I'm pretty sure it caused bloating in my legs. This is my theory on us Hunters or at least in my case- the black dots are bad for the legs. Anyway, once again coffee free because it is a black dot and was wondering if any Hunters had noticed something similar. |

When my Hunter husband drinks coffee at the weekend (only time that he really does) if he doesn't have any food first, it upsets his stomach & goes straight through him (BM's) |

Coffee has an uncomfortable stimulating effect on me. My heart races and I feel jittery. I have never liked it, but in my younger days would have a cup to be social. The last time I had coffee was about 4 years ago when I was staying at a villa in Italy. The hosts offered us espresso and I wanted to share in the culture. I hardly slept for three days! That was before BTD but I knew at that point I was done with coffee!

No problems with coffee here. However, I will admit I cannot drink a LOT of coffee in the morning on an empty stomach or I get that acidy feeling in my stomach. When I do drink coffee, I only drink it in the morning, before food and then I don't drink it again for the remainder of the day. I also drink it black, no sweetener. |

I just decided for the sake of years of experience to ditch it- green tea is in, coffee is out. |

I never liked coffee, so this is not an issue for me. However, my friends who are o's do not tolerate coffee at all. Everytime they drink it, all they talk about is how there stomach is upset. |

Last two weekends, he has been having less coffee & always after food & it seems to be helping a bit be even better if he cut it out altogether of course... |

i admit i've been drinking coffee every morning. with a newborn in the house i need the caffeine jolt. i've tried yerba mate and green tea, but just doesn't have the same eye opening effect on me. It does increase my anxiety though and makes me feel very jittery so once the baby is sleeping better i am hoping to get off it again. |

At my job, everybody drinks coffee to have that "edge." I am the only one who doesn't drink coffee and I do OK. I take caffeine pills on occasion though, lol. Stressful job. |

I've found that I can do a cup of coffee once every few days and am fine. If I do any more than that, severe indigestion occurs. When I have coffee, I only do so after a meal of all beneficial foods, then follow up an hour or so later with a glass of mango juice. |

Lola, do you know if this is also true for black tea. i know black tea is an avoid too, but i usually use it to step down from coffee and then move on to green tea. i can't go from coffee to green tea without terrible headaches and major tiredness but concerned about the insulin resistence. |

I tried getting addicted to coffee once. It didn't work. I'd heard of all these people who get major headaches when going off it. I never did. Every now and then I get asthma. Rather than take that nasty inhaler I drink coffee. Organic. Black. Works every time. I've never had an issue with either tea or coffee. |

If using black tea is the only way you can step down from coffee, I'd say go for it! You are working toward a good goal. Since coffee and black tea are both no-no's, why not use the no-no that is helping you achieve a good goal? |

I think it amps up reactivity in reactive genotypes, esp for hunters though. That is what it did for me, and I am an A explorer, so not as intenesly reactive as a hunter. Plus the caffeine was the major problem for me more than the coffee itself. |
