actually theres no connection between whorls and cancer. Infact if u check this link it suggests that greater than 6 whorls is a protection against breast cancer . out of the 200 ppl on whom breast cancer survey was done only 4 ppl had whorls greater than 6.

That's a pretty small sample size...

A small sample size is often sufficient to meet statistical standards. A well designed trial produces statiscally valid results with surprising small populations, if unrelated factors that can skew the trial can be successfully eliminated from the trial population.

Having said that, I have not looked at this particular survey. Peer reviwed articles have fairly high standards but occasionally something slips through.

O two whorls both on right hand. ring and pinkie.  All else are ulnar loops = meaning I should remember my turmeric. (Alzheimer's) however no one on either side of my family has ever had it and most have had their mental abilities until just before their death many well into their mid to late 80's and some into their  late 90's.

I plan on live well forever !

I have 6 ulnar loops for sure.
Ring/pinkie aren't easy to read on both hands, possibly 2 more loops and 2 radial loops or peacock whorls. lots of vertical lines  and worn ridges make them hard or impossible to figure out still.

This is true, however the study contradicts what Dr. D has to say about finger prints, and I've found that you can find a study, peer review included, to support just about an position. After all, dihydrogen monoxide is deadly in overly large quantities.

9 definite whorls and one that's not quite a whorl, not quite an ulnar loop. I also have white lines. Since going off all grains, my gut is healing. White lines are still there but it'll take a long time for them to disappear. That's okay. It took 53 years for me to get here. I'm just continually amazed at and thankful for the body's willingness to heal after so much abuse.

no whorls for me either...
6 ulnar loops, 2 tented arches, 1 radial loop and 1 composite*

*i am currently calling it a composite... it's very damaged/low ridges and lots of white lines, etc. I think it's a radial loop, but it could also be a tented arch, or a combination, but not 100% sure.

Study of Dermatoglyphic Patterns of  Hands
in Women with Breast Cancer

Sakineh Abbasi1, Nahid Einollahi2, Nasrin Dashti3 & F. Vaez-Zadeh4

Abstract:

Objective: Study the relationship of digital dermatogletphic patterns of hands in women with breast cancer and or at risk for developing breast cancer.

Methodology: Fingerprints were studied in 616 women in three groups: (1) 154 breast cancer patients, (2) 154 females at increased risk for developing breast cancer and (3) 308 control females for the purpose of finding patterns that would identify those women with breast cancer or those who are predisposed to its development.

Results: A pattern of 6 or more digital Whorls was identified more frequently in women with breast cancer (48.7%) as compared in the control group to (27.5%) (P < 0.05). It was also more frequent in women with known risk factors for breast cancer (47.4%) as compared in the control group to (27.5%) (P < 0.05). No obvious differences were noted in women at increased risk for developing breast cancer (47.4%) when compared with women who had breast cancer (48.7%).

Conclusion: Digital dermatoglyphics may play an important role in identifying women either with or at increased risk for breast cancer so that either risk reduction measures or earlier therapy may be instituted.

Keywords: Breast Cancer, Dermatoglyphics, Fingerprints.
