Or am i the odd one out?.
My swami says that typically gatherer's are short, i'm wondering if i'm just an exception or if my genotype wasn't calculated properly?.

I'm tall! I'm a 49-year old woman who is currently 5'10". Up until 40 or so, I was actually just a hair under 6 ft, but I've shrunk since then.

I thought that shrinking you heard about was only what happened to older people? But I guess it has to start somewhere? I'm in between Gatherer & Explorer & average height - 5'5&1/2"... I wonder if I have shrunk too, as whenever I was measured at school/weight watchers etc I am sure I was either 5'6 or 5'7??!! |

Yes - that's the general thought. I shrank so much that my Dr. had me do a bone density test. I was at the very top of the charts in bone density, which I expected because I have never broken a bone, even though I have had horse wrecks that should have broken several. I don't have any back problems (except that were caused by needing a new mattress), but the only guess was that 20+ years of riding horses all day, every day caused general compression in my spine. I'm supposed to hang upside down, and do so when I'm able. I know that was my height though because in 1987 I had a very bad horse wreck (horse I was riding at a high rate of speed went expletive deleted over tip and fell on top of me), which meant many trips to the hospital/ chiropractor/ PT. I measured at 5'11-1/2" tall at all three places. Last year I was measured as 5'9-1/2" and 5'10". Go figure. |
