Well, I've been thinking about it for a while, and it keeps bugging me that I can't help but wonder how this guy makes HIS money! I don't know anyone who makes a practice of eating chlorella by the cupful every day. It seems that most people take it in supplement form, and you would probably have to take fifty caps to equal a half cup. I don't know anyone who would be willing to do that, either! And a lot of people who take chlorella take spirulina supplements too. So between the two I don't think people are going to be taking enough to mess up their brains, etc.. He seems to have an inordinate amount of interest in the money other people are making! So that sort of gives me a bad taste right off the bat. Suppose Dr. D. was having a whole lot to say about how much money other people were making.........Ain't going to happen, methinks! |

I have to wonder if organic chlorella has any of the same issues. |

Yes, good point! I don't really like that blog either, but I am trying to get rid of lead and mercury. Spirulina is a diamond on my SWAMI, but it doesn't get rid of heavy metals. Chlorella does, so... Just curious if it is going to harm me. Also want others not to swallow harmful things in the community. |

I have been doing a lot of delving into what other people are having to say about their success with these two products and most of it is very positive. Some of them have been taking it for a long time. I'm going to try both of them to see for myself, since all this stuff is pretty much a do-it-yourself deal in some ways, at least, because we are so different. I LOVE the effects chlorophyll has on my stomach already which is just one of the reasons I want to try chlorella. If someone decided to tear apart all the foods we eat, we probably would faint at the results. One story I read said that a certain fruit that most of us eat at one time or another was tested and there were thirteen different pesticides present in this fruit. Reckon what sort of changes were taking place in the composition of the fruit crops planted over a period of years in this soil that had thirteen different pesticides sprayed on it? Wonder how many more varieties of pesticides will be there ten years from now as the old ones lose their potency? And when it comes to organic fruits and vegetables in some parts of the country, the crops are sprayed with irrigation that is contaminated with whatever is in the river nearby that has a lot of runoff in it from just such crops as the fruit mentioned in the referenced article. So this guy has a LOT of work to do just looking into what is happening to the foods we have been eating for decades and forget about the "new" (what a misnomer!) superfood. For now. |

My husband, my kids (when they were little) and I all took Super Blue Green Algae for many years on a daily basis. It is listed in the website as one of the types of algae that cause toxicity. We all felt great while we were on it. In fact, our daughter, who had cronic ear infections and needed tubes in her ears, got so much better from the perspective of health and sick doctor visits, as did our son, that our pediatrician noticed that we had not been to the doctor for sick visits for both kids and they were surveying parents whose kids did not get sick as to what they were doing to keep their kids well. I told him about the super blue green algae, acidophilus and bifidus that I was giving our kids and he was not surprised. His wife was taking it too. He encouraged me to keep it up since there was a very observable trait in our children's wellness. |

My number of posts doesn't by any means reflect my association with this site and before that, Dr. D.'s diets! My "award" and zillions of posts disappeared a good while ago! Don't ask me why. But who worries about little things like that? I am happy as a lark! |

Spring, Kind of makes you wonder how good some of the organic food is if the irrigation water is contaminated! Oh well, we just have to do our best. Lin |

I keep trying my best to remind myself that "our best" is all we can do, Lin, but it does get wearisome! There is one thing that is very noticeable about organic foods, though, regardless of the drawbacks, and that is they stay fresh a lot longer (if they are fresh when we buy them!) and are more flavorful than the other stuff. If we have to pile on all kinds of other things to make vegetables palatable, something is very wrong! I have grown yellow squash that was just as flavorful as sweet, yellow corn. In fact, I would put it in the processor after lightly cooking it, add butter and salt, give it a whirl, and my sons would argue with me that it was corn! I'm not sure they were ever completely convinced that I wasn't fooling with them! |

Is that because of the chlorella?? A little hard to decipher from your text. |
