What does Dr. D think of chelation with DMPS? Is it dangerous or too rough on the kidneys? Is there a better way to get rid of heavy metals? I recently discovered that I'm high in mercury and lead. |

Hi!
I didn't click on Lolas links here...
Take green algae 'Spirulina'- it will bind heavy metals and help transport them out of your body. Not sure if other algae do the same... Not sure if it clears lead....
Good Luck! |

Cilantro and Harmonia Delux would work well. Alternatively cilantro with spirulina or anything with lots of chlorophyll or chlorella.
I have been told cilantro helps the body purge heavy metals, but the benefit of chlorophyll or chlorella at the same time is that they bind well to the metal itself.

Christopher 1, I am toxic in both lead and mercury as well. Please be very careful using cilantro. Cilantro is a strong chelator but it can cross the blood brain barrier, causing what is called re-toxification. If you use cilantro, you must use chlorella, but personally, I would not do this on my own. I am going to an MD who specializes in chelation therapy in late February. He was the one who cautioned me on the problems with using cilantro on your own. There are two aspects to chelation therapy. Mobilization, where you mobilize the heavy metals and elimination, where you help your body eliminate the metals. If you can afford it, I would find someone who you can work with - either an MD or a naturopath who has experience with this. Lead is very difficult to chelate because it mimicks calcium and leaches into the bones. The doctor I am going to uses several different methods of chelation, depending upon the patient. He mostly uses the more gentle, herbal type remedies for chelation because some of the medical-type solutions can tax the liver and cause very serious issues. He does a complete analysis to look at how the systems of the body are functioning, such as the liver and the kidneys. Generally, he will choose the pathway he feels is the strongest in your body - either the liver, the kidneys or the skin. Do some research on folks in your area who can do this for you and at least talk to some professionals before you do this on your own. Best of luck. |

Thank you Patty that was very, very helpful. I wish you the best of luck with your journey as well. I just got some OPC's through the mail. I hope it is going to be beneficial. According to the protocol, elderberries are also highly recommended for detoxification for some reason. |

Christopher, I went to a seminar on detox by the doctor I will see in late February and then I bought a copy of the DVD on the seminar. If I have time tomorrow, I will try to watch the remainder of the seminar and post any other notes of interest on what he uses and why. He has been doing this for some time and I feel very confident in his understanding and professionalism.
The dental clinic, with whom he is connected, has a protocol you follow for amalgam removal.
One question for you - do you have amalgam fillings? I cannot remember if you stated this in your earlier posts. If so, you SHOULD NOT DO CHELATION THERAPY until all the amalgam has been removed. |

Thank you. I would really appreciate that. I do not have any amalgam fillings in my mouth. Thank you for letting me know though. |

Do you know where the mercury came from? |

I think I just have SNP's which don't allow me to produce glutathione very effectively. Probably fish and flu shots and more. |

I have difficulty with methylation and do have an SNP. I am sure getting rid of all of these toxins will help. I also have a mouth full of amalgam, although half are gone. I will have the third quadrant removed on Thursday and the final quadrant removed in February. That should help my toxic load quite a bit! |
