Thanks Starpine. What do you do with hearts of palm?
Well I usually eat them right out of the can with chopsticks. haha. So delish. But I really like them with buffalo hot dogs too! That's a genoharmonic combo for me. |

Hunters can we discuss the "calories in calories out" theory? Does this apply to us? Do we truly need to count calories like everyone else. Even on high carbs and moderately high calories with a few binges on ice cream per week I never weighed more than 112, am 5'1". |

"calories in calories out" applies to me far less than" carbs (starch) in carbs out". I HAVE to watch my carbs, especially in the form of starch. They cause weight gain as well as bloating for me. |

Yes I have found this to be true also. I am better off on lower carbs though honestly when I was younger I wasn't that bad off, really only lowered my carbs in late 20s. |

I think Hunters in their youth can get away with a heck of a lot. I know I did. Ate anything I wanted till I hit my thirties... then things started to hurt, sag and change. Alcohol and suger and wheat are definetly our worst enemies. These are All carbs! These used to be my fav's, now do not touch any of them! |

I was very careful in my 30s. But now, at 41, I remain a few pounds below where I want to be and am kind of fed up. I ate a TON of almond butter last month- fat for maybe 5 minutes and a few days later, over. |

Yes totally. I have just recently adopted this regime and feeling better overall. my neck is actually starting to hurt less. When I first dropped grains I had a few days where my neck got worse and now it's getting better. I've lost about 20 lbs since starting in November with an eating regime where I slowly added more protein and less and less CARBS - THE BAD CARBS and grains. I'm very careful now and try to eat lots more vegiesand lots of meat. Trying to also get in more fish although not my fav.. BEEF is what I like best. It's not worth it for me to hurt. I do watch my fruit intake and currently stay away from banana's. Having cravings come on IS NOT WORTH eating extra fruit. I don't worry about the volume of good oils, butter and ghee that I use - I only concern myself with getting more vegies. I find I don't have to eat as big of a meal if I get enough fats in with the meal. I've read where O's and Hunters do better on an almost Ketosis type routine although it takes a hell of a drop in ALL carbs to get me even close to ketosis.. for some reason I can't ever get into it unless i'm eating ONLY meats and oils. I've also been walking every other day and on the other days I do 45 minutes of elliptical and a small amount of arm weight and hip work. Good thread! |

Blue singer would you or anyone for that matter please post what a day of food looks like now that you have lowered your carbs. I would love a visual from someone. If we are lowering our carbs I am wondering what fat and protein and vegetable portions look like. Thank-you to any one able to post their typical day of food. Thanks |

This happens to me too! I eat lots of fat, feel fat for a little while then it all goes away again. I love this phenomenon! |
