Yeah, I usually sleep great and I always get my 8 hours or even more. I always drink alot of water, but also a lot of tea with a little bit of sugar with each cup. In all, my diet is fairly clean apart from the last month or so where I have been eating alot of chocolate.. Sugar is out from now on |

Dark circles are liver issues.. maybe a liver cleanse ? eat way more greens or make green juices.. dandilion by the bushel full -if you can get organic ones- for 8 weeks every day.. dark spots on the skin will get lighter too...
BTD will make a big difference - over time.. get Swami if you can.. |

Hunters CAN have chocolate, just not the commercial stuff with milk and sugar and possibly chemical preservatives. Cocoa powder in hot water with agave and/or molasses makes a tasty treat, and/or get some unsweetened baking chocolate. You can eat the baking chocolate plain if you like the dark, bitter flavor, or melt it and stir in a compliant sweetener, then let it cool and eat. You can also put a spoonful of cocoa powder into yerba mate or green tea.
Get creative. If you're truly craving chocolate, then you can enjoy the benefits of chocolate without the "avoid" additives, and it's likely to keep you from nibbling on the stuff you shouldn't be eating.
Ideally, you should be drinking green tea unsweetened, perhaps with some compliant juice added. But if you MUST have it sweet, use agave (beneficial) or honey (neutral) in it rather than sugar (avoid.) Honey is usually pretty easy to find. And you shouldn't be drinking black tea at all! If you find yourself out and about, with few good choices, drink water! |

green foods concentrated in juice will matter no matter which one you like.. use only what is better the Neutral in the foods you can have.. you might be able to add carrots as well to make it tasty// but any effort will pay off.. start and practice to find one that you like.. I like bitter so dandelions is for me.. strong.. no more then 1/3rd glass at a time ... |

Love kale, pineapple juice and apple-- sometimes I add ginger too.
I only use two leaves of kale, I use a blender and drink the veggie pulp. |

well i tested the fruit and a little wheat the other day not a lot of any other sugar all week, big itches on legs and big dark circles under the eyes. went back to little fruit and very compliant and as it happens a half days (morning fast due to forgetting to take by new intrinsai supps) circles gone. and the itching on the lower legs (mainly but elsewhere too a little)
so i suppose my next question would be do you itch when you have dark circles? if not then that probably the wheat, and if that's the case
go sugar and fruit free for a day or two and see what happens, if you get a positive response you may need to look at your sugar/insulin/levels and perhaps pre diabetes, perhaps do overnight fasting glucose test, take a quantity of glucose in the morning and check blood levels.
haven't done one myself yet so check the correct protocols first, assuming you have access to blood sugar monitor, i bought one for a giggle, may prove to be useful as i may have to do the same test.

I have to agree with the sugar bit. I've been sneaking more agave & chocolate covered almonds into my days and have noticed the dark circles under my eyes get worse. Sugar always does this to me. |

I would be wary of xylitol, any cheat will eventually have to be paid for. usually with candida in one form or another. being a sugar alcohol it will may not be beneficial to fructose malabsorbers. |

Black tea was originally green tea. The tea was cooked to survive the months voyage at sea, during the time of the tall ships.
Black tea is much like other smoked/well grilled food; the cooking cures troublesome compounds into an otherwise better food.
Black tea, smoked ham, and charred steak may be delicious but they build up toxins in your system. |

Get away from caffeine, esp coffee.
Caffeine makes my heart race and i cannot focus or sit still. Increases stress chemicals like adernaline and cortisol and it robs energy reserves.
I feel like it does this to me anyway. |

when i'm sleeping well they receed in colour but they never really go away. It's better when my congestion levels are low, better when i have fewer grains. |

I'm in the conventional medical field and the people with the worst dark circles are the Crohn's patients. It's almost like a flag waving "I've got bowel issues!"

Yes Jenn, very helpful. Although I'm always moaning about my dark circles they have also never been better.
I must add though that since cutting down a bit more on sugar they have got better still, although there is definitely a link with wheat too.
Although it may just be me taking Intrinsa, seriously helps so many things i think. |

Wow! I have colitis and developed circles- thought originally I was just getting older, but am off nearly all medication for the last 5 months now (yey!!) and I think my circles are getting better! That would make sense according to all the liver/ detox posts even though all my blood tests ( 4 per year) to test liver function over the last 13 years were always perfect I used to take 10 tablets a day! Must explore the sugar connection more, as I probably eat more than I would like to admit Intention for 2012....endeavour to eat less sugar (in any form) every single day |

I followed the link to the liver support protocol and wondering about the directions to take Deflect B supplement between meals. I've been following the directions on the bottle which says to take with meals. Does anyone know if this matters? something particular as a protocol if you are liver detoxing? something else? |

with meals or between meals....both work to heal immediate lectin reaction as well as past lectin damage......no worries |

My understanding is that deflect with meals helps minimize damage from lectins in the current meal, while taking it between meals helps the body clear out old lectin damage. |
