I've been on the diet for 7 years now but have had a very persistent problem that I would to get fixed. My self-confidence has really taken a beating after years of this persistent condition.

It all started with seborrheic dermatitis around the nasolabial folds. My dermatologist gave me some Desonide lotion, which is basically a steroid cream. In hindsight, I think it was too powerful for me. At the time, I was dumb enough to use the cream around my entire nose, thinking it would be "more effective". Bad mistake.

What proceeded was "steroid rosacea", a condition of permanent redness of the nose as I was weaning of this powerful steroid lotion. There were also many spider veins, which have never gone away (nasolabial folds). I returned to the dermatologist, thinking that he could help me. He gave me a powerful antibiotic (Solodyn) and a topical immune suppressant called "Protopic". I told my dermatologist that I was worried about the side effects of antibiotics. His response was a strange look on his face. I think he thought I was crazy.

With this protocol, the redness disappeared overnight. After a 10 day course of this very powerful antibiotic, I continued with the Protopic. I told my dermatologist that the Protopic - although it worked well - worked better with the antibiotic. He said that I could take the antibiotic again whenever I felt a need to suppress the redness a bit more.

I never took the antibiotic again, regardless of many friends and family members suggesting that I should go back on it.

Without the antibiotic, the redness returned. I had to use Protopic every single day to cool it down.

I stumbled across the BTD. That was 7 years ago. With the help of Dr. D'Adamo's work, I was able to go off the Protopic and feel better about my life. (Thank you, Dr. Peter D'Adamo!)

I still have the rosacea from the steroid lotion however. Is there a way I can heal the tissue in my nose? I know the nose is just cartilage, but is it possible to repair it? If I can't heal the cartilage, is there a way I can at least get rid of the redness for good? It's been 7 years of 100% compliance, and I've tried many of the protocols in the encyclopedia.

I also always seem to have dandruff. I'm not sure why, but it runs in the family. My mother (a gatherer) is even worse than me. You should see her car seat. It looks like it's snowing inside the car! The reason I'm pointing this out is because it might be related to the redness?

You body will, given the right conditions do the best job of repair, with the right diet, the right environment and avoidance of destructive medication.

become a super compliant person, get healthy by resting , sleeping well, getting the right minerals and vitamins.

I am constantly amazed at what is possible. and it is possible.

your swami will set you on the road to recovery, but you have to find your particular poison or addiction that is holding back the healing, be it coffee, ice cream, sugar, alcohol, negatively, poor water, bad medication etc etc.

is there anything you think that you eat that you like too much or eat too much of.

I find  great help for dandruff and  dermatitis seborrheic with borage oil or linseed oil as a supplement, the freshest you can (after one month don't use it neither topical neither as food supplement). Jojoba oil, never rancid) with tea tree and other essential oils are good topically, hope it helps !
I have just a tiny spot of this  on my right jaw near the ear and it is fading eventually
sardines and salmon as protein  are too useful as walnuts for their omega 3 EFA , Vit E plus C could help a lot too !

Also, maybe look into the Skin Health Protocol for your type:

Spider veins are permanent.

I don't know how to fix the rosacea. My brother has the same problem.

I have tried the skin protocol three times already.
Do you think these creams will heal the nose tissue or just hide the redness?

If 7 years of BTD  compliance haven't fully healed the skin around your nose, you may want to give SWAMI a try. A more specified food list may lead to deeper healing.

[Spider veins are permanent]

I am not sure i agree with you on this one.

I am still testing a few things that seem have some effect at least.

I've heard OPC's are good for spider veins. What have you tried?

Something very interesting I have found , is that rosacea can be caused by demodex mites which are carried on pets, that burrow into the hair follicles in the skin. They can cause alot of rosacea in the skin , to kill the mites wash you bed sheet, douvet and pillowcases in particular with borax which kills them. To kill them on your skin certain oils do this such as, sea buckthorn seed oil, neem oil, or teat tree oil. A tea tree oil face wash can work really well although for me im a bit allergic to tea tree oil so i use neem. You can also add borax power to a bath.

Also use a vaso constricting lotion on your face rather than anything too harsh , I use pure rosewater which is brilliant . I use only rosewater these days and my skin feels incredible, no foundation no nothing just rosewater. It is a vaso constrictor making the capillaries under the skin smaller . It is also very cooling and i cleanse my face with it dayand night with a cotton wool ball.

Also it is best to avoid foods that contain particularly high doses of niacin , such as chicken, bananas or tuna as niacin causes flushing.

neem also works wonders for seborrhea, which i also suffer from ,as it is anti fungal, i no longer really have it any more and my eyebrows are starting to fill in again after i experienced hair loss from seborrhic dermatitis. Coconut oil also works but i think it is an avoid for O's so neem would be the best option. You can also add it to your shampoo really work it in and leave for a minuite. MSM cream is also great. Just make sure that you dont let your face or your hair ever get too oily as this is when the problem gets to be the worst.

And try not to use any harsh products like nizoral shampoo, or sodium laureth sulfate products . The natural products above have worked wonders!

Sorry if i sound a bit too commanding! These skin disorders have driven me wild these past years and i have spent alot of time researching cures!
