Just a quick question
I have always played sport throughout my life, but have always suffered from tight leg muscles along with my hip joints. I don't seem to have this problem with my arms or any other area, so was wondering if this diet could help.
Has anyone else suffered severe tightness of muscle/joints which has since been relieved? |

Like you, my husband (type O also) always played sport & walks part way into work each day, & started to suffer joint pain!! This diet - by excluding wheat sugar etc & other inflammatory foods - definitely has helped him (& me) immensely!! Give it a go - what have you got to lose, apart from your pain? He only gets a stiff hip & lower back pain if he has to eat out (occupational hazard unfortunately), but he has learnt things like to have cider instead of a beer with his clients now... |

Possum - That last comment regarding the cider has me intrigued. Since looking at the GTD foods I have been searching for an alternative to drinking beer or lager. I was a little worried about cider as I thought it contained a little too much sugar. I know it's gluten free, but does your husband feel better for drinking it? Are we talking the Magners/Bulmers brand or just cider in general? |

Hi Gaz - just cider in general He is a Hunter so can probably handle the little extra sugar ok...Would there be any more in it than in beer? I can't (being somewhere between a Gatherer/Explorer) He used to get so bloated with beer & pass wind, but really enjoys the cider & doesn't fall asleep either after a glass or two... If we are out together I generally don't drink but I can share a little sip or two of his cider, no probs... Btw I am a fellow Aussie... Dad was born in Brisbane... |

Ahh that's good to hear Possum.. Have you been out in NZ long? I'm actually from Scotland but have been here since I was 9 yrs old, so 23-24 years ago.. I'm still getting used to the Brissy heat haha I'm guessing there's similar amount of sugar in both cider or lager, so I'll give it a try. It's good to hear that your hubby doesn't mind sharing his drink with you... He definitely can't be Scottish lol |

lol Snap No I am the Scottish one... My Dad was first generation born of parents from Glascow I can well imagine the heat of Brisbane being a change...even after all these years lol I have only been there twice & both times in Spring I'm sure the BTD/GTD will suit you well - definitely also helps cope with the effect humidity can have on the joints... We've been in NZ going on 10 years... Must say love the temperate climate of Wellington (never too hot & usually not too cold) |
