I'm either a gatherer or an explorer. My finger lengths are so close that i've remeasured many times and i'm still not sure which one i am. For now i'm following the gatherer diet because i fit more of the other factors of being a gatherer like having a real hard time losing weight, etc... I'm hoping i'll beable to get the swami with birthday money at the end of the year. My question is does the swami determine your genotype by other factors besides your measurements (finger lengths in my case) or does it all still come down to my finger lengths?. Thanks!!! Mickey |

SWAMI uses a much more complicated process than the book uses to calculate a person's GenoType. It is fairly common that the SWAMI calculated GenoType differs from the book.
The process was greatly simplified in the book so people could follow it easily (some would disagree that it is easy even after the simplification).
Once it determines GenoType this is only the starting point in SWAMI. GenoType is only one factor used in determining the ratings of food in SWAMI.

Another thing that happens with SWAMI is since more factors are considered in determining GenoType.
If you update these factors the SWAMI calculated GenoType changes and the diet is adjusted for the new values.
When you calculate GenoType using the book method for an adult that has stopped growing, the GenoType almost never changes (how often do the length of you fingers change?). |

On finger lengths and the book:
Ties always go to the index finger.
If repeated measurements do not reveal a clear difference in length, the index finger is assumed to be longer.
It is only when the ring finger is clearly longer that one uses the values for "ring finger is longer." |

C_Sharp thanks for all the helpful info.! Everytime i measure my fingers they come out different, i decided instead of driving myself crazy by re-measuring i would stick to the gatherer plan until i can get the swami. I feel much more reassured now about getting the swami, thanks again!!!! |

Mickey perhaps this is how you measured, but a clear ruler used on the palm side of the fingers will sometimes give a stronger delineation. |
