I am new here to the forum, and I am beggining my weight loss journey. I am a Hunter and 0+. My question is do I need to take supplements for my blood type and genotype or take just one? Which one would be best for wieght loss? Thanks for any help |

You don't "have to" take any supplements. The right diet is the most important part. If you supplement but continue to eat wrong, you won't heal and probably won't lose weight. If you eat right but dont' supplement, you'll still heal and lose weight, but your progress might be a little bit slower. In general, you're better off "not supplementing" than taking supplements that contain "avoid" ingredients (such as many multivitamins on the market today.)
That's assuming you're in general good health. Some specific health concerns can't be fixed with diet alone, and do require supplements to heal. |

I guess I should clarify. For both the GenoType and Blood Type you get a list of recommend supplements from Dr. D. If my main goal at this point is to lose weight, while eating my GenoType Diet, should I take the Supplements from both my Blood and Geno list or does one work better than the other for weight loss. Thanks again and Thank you to those that have responded already. |

It may be an idea to give more details about your health , weight, size, and any issue you may have then a more accurate answer would help you more.
but the basics are Polyvite O(with food), Phytocal O(with food), Delect O(with food),
and
Live Cell O (on an empty stomach with a full glass of water), with polyfolra O.

I think you can take both. Just depends on your budget, and what you can afford.
In my humble opinion, Type O supplements are still good on GenoType program. They give you things that the GenoType supplements don't.
GenoType supplements don't give you the calcium or the polyflora you might need.

The calcium is in the GenoType Multimineral (Not part of the three pack): http://www.4yourtype.com/prodinfo.asp?number=GTMULTI-MA low dose of a probiotic is included in some of the GenoType three packs (check the activator to see if it is there). |

I would try some of the supplements from the Geno list. But there isn't any reason to go overboard at first. If I were going to recommend any single thing it would be probiotics to get started. Some people have a greater need for this than others, but it certainly got me started in the right direction right off the bat. It is a good idea to study some of the supplements to find out for what purpose they are actually taken to support. Good luck with the weight loss! |

260 pounds - that's about 18 stone? well If I were you I would concentrate on one thing a t a time. I am assuming you are not very compliant, so do please correct me as I ramble, all meant with good intentions. what weight would you ideally like to be , I assume about 13 stone would be ideal. in which case i would concentrate on either cutting out wheat, first, I found that was the easiest and gave the best results for me initially, once you have managed that and any detox effects, i would then pick dairy, in the mean time i would gradually reduce any addictions that you have like soda, sweets, crisps etc. in the mean time I would do a bit of study of the avoid foods and the beneficial foods and concentrate on eating the beneficial ones that are easily available and in your budget. if you want some more help keep posting but feel free to pm me if you like, I'm studying all this so although it may be helpful to you (i hope) it's also useful for me so a sort of quid pro quo if yo like. so if you want draw up a complete history and plan and lets start. I'm not sure of your age etc so the more detail the better. also make a note of the supplements That C Sharp just listed in order, he knows a thing or two.. A couple of notes on geno type - are you sure you are a hunter? did you do the test on which would be more beneficial eg the Blood type diet or the geno type. Lola might like to link you to that also look into getting Swami - it's amazing. where do you live? cold you afford a consultation with some one to run a professional swami? also do you know if you are O + or O -, are you sure you are blood type O, you would not believe the amount of people i have tested for blood type who have insisted they were the wrong blood type. for every person who got it right there were two that were a complete opposite to what they though. two sister who both thought they were O's were in fact A's. and male that was absolutely positive he was an O that was actually a type B, and so on. what exercise do you do and what things would you like to do? re the meds, I can't recommend anything about them as I don't know enough, but me and my family now don't do any drugs, and we used to do loads so it's is achievable but do take your time deciding when reduce or give up stuff and take advice, and then get some more. |

Would get the weight loss pack and start there, once the weight comes off many of the issues will resolve. D'Adamo Personalized Nutrition experts can help you by phone with all your questions. Do not take too much stuff at once you will get overwhelmed and confused. O's lose weight easily but do require enough protein--- eggs are a great source of protein for O's. We each have our opinions--- but it will be up to you to decide how to proceed. Ask for Nancy at D'Adamo Personalized Nutrition she is very helpful and will guide you. My friend at work BT O has just lost 9 lbs using the weight loss pack. |

Yes Lola.. Probably better to follow the Gatherer diet for awhile even if she is a Hunter.. I have watched Dr. D flip people in the clinic. Supplements in the weight loss pack are targeted and will work well. |

Try ginger capsules. It is a good supplement for digestion and can enhance your metabolism. Also has positive effects on gut flora and other good benefits.
Just don't take too much or take it before going to bed. I did this and had trouble going to sleep. But i am a chemically sensitive explorer. Prob wouldn't do that to you. |

If this is answered, sorry! I'm a hunter, I'm in pretty good health now and I'm trying to lose weight gained after taking lot's of pills after getting sick. So, I was on a BTD for years but in the last 2 yrs it didn't feel that good and I decided to go on a GTD. And I feel so much better. At this moment I'm not in a position to get myself a SWAMI and to order in the Hunter 3 pack. I'm trying to eat right and drink my tea (which I discovered does me very good). Does it matter which fish oil I use as a supplement? I mean does it matter which fish it is extracted from? And what about the fillers in the pills? And also if anyone could say something about vitamin B5... Thank you! P.S. I take calcium and multivitamin's...I'm excercising 4-5 times a week, usually jogging, swimming and sometimes in the gym... |

You should look for fish oil capsules that don't have any avoids in the ingredietns, either as "fillers" or as the fish themselves. You also want to buy fish oil from a reputable supplier, and from a store with a high turnover rate in their supplements. Oils in capsules CAN go rancid if they sit in the shelf too long, so a store that sells a lot of supplements and replaces the bottles on the shelves faster means fresher fish oil in the capsules. I'm wary of supplements from places like Target for this reason- who knows how long those bottles sat in a warehouse before being shipped to the store?
Rancid oils are toxic and should not be consumed. |

Thank you for the info, it's very helpful...I think I'll try taking fish oil made of cod fish. |
