So after all "what is in a heading"? THE differences between what life might be like, experienced by a MALE, and not us females.. Like, would a male have issues different from females? Would his musculature be softer as in me and seen as protected by a fat layer on the wrist for instance?
I wonder actually how many factors are taken into consideration on MALEness versus femaleness? Did anyone see differences in any of the questions other then the obvious ones? Do GENES care?
Are men gatherers shorter, softer, have more hair, have a good outlook on life, are burdened by gatherer-ness? Is food a bigger issue rather then drink? Are friendships on issue, or are they easy to cultivate? Are men glutenous, or frugal in their approach to living? Would meeting another Gatherer be nicer, presuming that thy would understand and feel a bond? There might be differences and I would be pleased to peruse such conversations, but even just a conversation amongst any group of Gatherers is slim pickins.. there seem to be fewer of us here.
So this thread starts out with more questions then answers..
I see one unifying issue and that is the future health problems we might encaunter... but they are more age related... |
| When I see other peoples medicines schedule-I am happy to be here taking care of my health I only wish to drop weight more easily-life would be perfection Being 'here' creates understanding. BTD prevents damage from eating avoids. Thanks Dr D & your sups - all support and friendships |

When I have time I will sit down and answer some of these questions from my perspective.

I just read something by a straight guy who said he's fantasized about being with one guy in his whole life, and that guy was...Elvis...supposedly a Gatherer... |

One of the earlier moderators, MoDon, was a Gatherer. |

I didn't realize that Gatherer was a rare genotype for males. Maybe Lola will direct me to the doctor's explanation of this? |

Hi, Lola - Does Dr. D'Adamo say it's rare for a male to be a Gatherer? I haven't seen that reference....Thanks.... |

my hub for one is a male gatherer......he doesn t have a weight issue
Quoted Text
Gatherer did not necessarily mean that you were overweight, since although it is easy to conceive of the Gatherer as 'gathering' calories, it's the other stuff (like amyloid in the brain, or immune complexes in the pancreas) that you also want to not 'gather.

Welcome Frimmin!
I guess my main "gatherer issue" is my lack of ability to lose weight, but I can live with that. For the past several years, my pattern seems to be that I start something new, lose 10 lbs in a month or 15 lbs in a month and a half, (making nothing in my closet or drawers fit right), and then I plataue for another year or more. It's kind of a frustrating pattern, especially when I start to daydream about the weight loss continuing and actually being at goal weight in a few months.
For now, a much bigger challenge is my health. I have fibromyalgia, a chronic condition, and when it flares up I find myself unable to exercise. When I can't exercise, the weight won't come off. A bigger deal is that it's hard to keep up with my life (taking care of my kids, etc) when it flares up, so wieght loss is just NOT a priority. |
