I started using licorice (DGL) per Dr. D's recommendation. Thank you Dr. D! It cleared up my rosacea, which I had for years! I would like to know why it clears up my rosacea. Is it because of the pylori or the stomach acid? I know I should not be using licorice on a long-term basis, because it's so powerful. But if I can target the "why", I may be able to permanently get rid of my rosacea, without just using licorice for the rest of my life. Thoughts? |

Is there any reason why this would not work for A's as well? |

This is fascinating info, thank you for sharing. I have rosacea, too. |

I am going to try this. I have been seeing a dermatologist for rosacea. Naturally, he prescribed the low dose antibiotic, doxycycline, and a topical lotion of some sulfa medicaton. I knew it had to do with my digestion, but I couldn't get it to go away with eating only highly beneficials. I never used the prescriptions.
I recently saw what seemed like a very knowledgeable optomitrist for a stye. She explained to me that the stye was rosacea in my eye! She said both were caused by a staph infection. My dermatologist never said a word about that. This freaked me out, so I started the meds the dermatologist had given me. The rosacea calmed down, but naturally my digestion has been hurt by it. I am a non-secretor so I don't need that! I stopped doxycyline pills yesterday after 2 months because of the digestive difficulties increasing and hit my Polyflora B heavy. I am going to try Gastro-D, now.
Do we think this help get rid of staph, if that is what is causing it? I assume so, since it seems everything begins in the gut. |

Hmm, GastroD has safflower and that is an avoid for me. I was also wondering if anyone knew about the form of Licorice that is in it. I tend to run high blood pressure. If not, I will call them.
Thanks, Gayle |

I found an article recently - I don't remember where - that stated rosecea may not be a disease of the skin, but a symptom of small intestine bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). This seems to be true for me. As a type A, we tend towards SIBO. I don't know how type O rosacea may differ is cause from type A rosecea, but I've recenntly discovered that when I load up on probiotics mine disappears as well What seems to be most effective for me personally is a bottle of kombucha one day alternating with a serving of cultured vegetable the next day, so each day I'm having either one or the other, keeping my intestinal flora in balance and my skin clear of the plague Best of luck to you in finding what works best |
