Are there enough Teachers on here to have a thread where we can hang out? I'm done with freaking out over my finger measurements, and retook them and I'm going with the Teacher. Especially, since I have finally found a bit of relaxation and less nausea since I switched. Plus, I have the asymmetry thing going...even in wrist measurements, one overlaps, and the other doesn't. I am a little jealous losing a support thread since my first type was Warrior, and they get a sticky and everything! So, anyone wanna hang out? Had an incredibly tasty dinner tonight. I always hated turkey burgers, but I don't know if it's now that I'm not eating bad foods, or if this Diestal (sp?) farms turkey burgers are really that amazing. They happened to be on sale. So, throwing all previous diet notions to the wind, I browned some spelt bread in a touch of ghee instead of using buns...did the burgers with sea salt and carmelized garlic chunks, and melted Colby on top (it was on sale, and the diamond cheeses were not). Then, I mixed up some mustard powder that I bought with some agave syrup to make some honey mustard. I ADORE mustard, and was just bummed that all of them on the market seem to have vinegar. It's just not in my budget to grab some honey this month, but the agave mustard was pretty dang good. Oh...and I topped the thing off with sauerkraut. I thought I'd be DYING for red meat, especially since I'm in my PMS time, but this tasted like one of the best burgers ever. I am honestly stunned. Oh, and I tend to cover burgers while cooking...but I only did it on the second side with these. Seems to keep them moister, and if using cheese you get better meltage. |

Sounds like a good turkey burger. I'm a tired Teacher so I don't have much to say tonight, but the thread would be a good one |

OK, I'm just way too happy now! Just hope there are Teachers who would like their own thread... and EMU!!!! So has anyone tried it? I found a place that sells it online for $4.50 a pound, and when I look at what I pay for pound for quinoa...I'm intrigued http://www.oregongrownemuproducts.com/The shipping was really reasonable, but, I happen to live in Oregon, so I don't know if it's insane if you are out of the area. Kind of afraid to take the plunge, but I'm also dang curious! |

Kudos on your own thread. I popped in here because I thought it was for teachers for the BTD totally doing a "brain fog" on GENOTYPE "Teachers." Now that's over, I think I'll on outta here! |

Hey fennel, welcome to a fellow Oregonian!
Thanks! As someone who lives in "Beervana", specifically Portland, I envy your Nomad status. At least I get coffee. Stumptown is about to become part of my diet....best dang coffee in the UNIVERSE (ok, I'm a biased PDXer, can ya tell?) |

Great city! And I would trade you all the beer you want if I could still have a big mug of Cafe' au Lait every day. But alas! It is not to be. |

And that's why I'm thinking the person who (I forget the screenname, so sorry) has posted about being emotionally way too attached to a food or craving it might be an indication of it being an avoid, is onto something. I'm Irish...I want/need/love beer. Not to get drunk...(I have to do the hard alchy to do that, as enough beer to do that, is...WAY too much to stomach physically). It was very easy to give up coffee...but, I'm going to really really REALLY enjoy that Stumptown!!! You teachers should all seriously get it sent to you. It's "dreamy" |

Teachers lounge - I like knowing exactly where to find it. There will be interesting questions, answers, & discussions related to the GTD3 diet and issues, problems, improvement, recipes...
I like the idea of a Teacher support group. I havn't been doing so good lately (living w junk food junkies) - I could use some encouragement.

Raingurl - Hope you will share your Swami experience with us. Did you get started? I see you are a Non-secretor like me - according to the book Teachers are usually secretors. So we are unique. So it will be interesting to see how that effects your personal program. Fennel - Please tell us about Stumptown, what is it? Re-read your Turkey Burger paragraph - it realy does sound good. I like mustard too. Was it good mixing your own. I have never gotten off vinegar - I should give it a try. We have a lovely herb/spice store here bc of all the fancy resturants. There is even a mustard festival here every spring. |

Love seeing fellow teachers on here.... actually its pretty cool because most of us are a BT A so most of our food choices should be similar right?
purlgirl- I started officially yesterday and pretty excited. While there are some challenges I didn't anticipate I think I've done a great job. One thing I've noticed on my personal diet that I can't have that the GT Teacher's diet can have is cheese. I can only have some select cheeses but almost all of it (especially the common cheeses) are on my avoid list. This may be because I'm a nonnie? I also can't have wheat or corn anything. So finding alternative breads and such are really difficult as each loaf has one or the other, (or another avoid) Those things are my biggest challenges, but I have come to learn that I can have a lot of things that A's and Teachers usually can't have. (not sure why) included in this are strawberries, tomatoes, cherries, and cucumbers. All of my major favorites... so I can't complain.
Not sure how my program differs from others but I'd be quite interested in finding out. |

A couple questions from a teacher aspect. 1) The Protein Powder from Dr. D'Adamo's site for blood type A's. Is this compatible for genotypes as well? In particular Teachers? And what about the bars and such? 2) I can NOT see where peas, green beans or snow peas are in my SWAMI report so I'm trying to figure out if I can have it. I had a salad yesterday and did SO good at my choice of everything. On this salad were green beans and snow peas. After that meal I was SO gassy, I burped all day and into the night. I know I ate something wrong. I kept thinking and looking and the only thing I can come up with is the snow peas and green beens. Actually thinking about them right now makes me feel gassy. lol So my fellow teachers, are snow peas and or green beans okay on YOUR diet? I see they are neutral for blood type A and nonnies. |

I live with other blood types and they are also a different Genotype... They have different foods than I, so I always have to separate what is their food and what is mine... It is all about setting limits for myself and staying within them... Just eat your food and leave theirs alone and you will be fine. |

Those items are listed under vegetable proteins on my SWAMI. |

Ah okay I found it. And they are beneficial. Hmmmm I don't get what I ate wrong. Could be detoxing I guess but I don't detox like that, I show I'm detoxing through my sinuses and my sinuses are just fine. Weird. Thanks for the help Drea! |

Are they raw? Are they a new addition to your diet? I have difficulties with many raw vegetables in larger quantities. Raw green beans would give me gas. Raw snow peas in a small amount . . ok, but a lot of them would give me gas. |

They were raw and they haven't been in my diet that much, especially raw. Raw vegetables have just not those. So that just might be the culprit. |

I don't always detox the same way... Some comes through the sinus, some through the lungs, some through the skin ( boils or perspiration)... I am happy to be getting rid of it all, no matter how it gets out...
