His lower leg isn't short enough for Gatherer, imo. He has a well defined square jaw, and muscularity, so I would go with Explorer.
Could we use this thread to guess other peoples genotypes? Perhaps as a fun game to help pass the time? I think that would be fun. |

Adam, I think that I have an angle on spotting Explorer women, and some others on the board here like the sport of guessing the Genotype of celebrities. Much of the skeletal evidence could narrow down Genotypes, but without at least the serological evidence, you just end up guessing. This goes with the anthropological side of Genotype - is it possible to Genotype ancient remains of humans? I would have to say that any body-builder who is torso-centric with a suitable craggy face would have to be an Explorer. I would be willing to bet a bottle of suppliments that the "Governator" is an Explorer. It might be hard to find someone to take my bet. |

Arnold has very long legs. He has a GT5 head. I'd say he is a Warrior. |

Arnold's definitely a Warrior in the gym if you watch Pumping Iron. But that square jar, capability to lift very heavy, and ability to pack on muscle mass disqualifies him as Warrior in my book. What blood type is he? Anyone know for certain? He's also a Leo. A Leo Explorer with the drive to be the best bodybuilder in the world would produce a body like Arnold's easily. Now, Frank Zane, beautiful svelte physique, is possibly a Hunter or Warrior. His jaw is not square, but neutral like my Warrior jaw. He lifted light and many reps and was not as big as Arnold. Zane was the picture of grace and beauty, not big and bulky. You just don't see them like Zane anymore, sadly. |

If you read is autobiography, he started injecting synthetic testosterone as a senior in high school, and kept with it till his early 40's...
(I think I should qualify that, as it was considered the same as any prescription drug then, until the early 80's. Getting prescriptions was not difficult, and drug companies would ship to Mexico with no problem, then people could drive to Mexico and then take them to the US with very little hassel. Sports did not do steriod testing during the 1970's.)
He could be "naturally" somewhat lighter than how we know him...

Hi Jared,
The interesting thing about Steve Maxwell is that he eats a highly carnivorous diet with very little vegetables. I've attended one of his seminars and he talked to me personally about his diet. It is high fat with lots of meat, eggs, cheese, butter, with only a little bit of green vegetables and no carbs whatsoever. I attempted this diet for a while and it was a disaster for me. He could in fact be a warrior because there are many folks that seem to be warriors that thrive on a high fat zero carb diet like this. Google Charles Washington or Owlsey Stanley if you'd like further proof, who are both blood type A and appear like warriors. |

Arnold has a square jaw - a small goinal angle that almost looks like it is 90 degrees! His face has that typically asymetrical and craggy look that is particular to Explorers. His waist is low - a key fact that excludes Warrior genotypes. I will grant he may have a relatively long head, but my cephalic index isn't exactly typical for Explorer either. He has a broad, solid frame. His politically motivated initiative for youth fitness empasized heavy exercise, and eating wide variety of primary and secoundary protein sources. He must have had the happy habit of both exercising and eating close to his Genotype, without knowing exactly what that is. Steroid abuse may tweak performance - but there are limits to what can be done to the human body. If you want to alter the length of body segments via artifical hormones, you had better start before four months. Before four months after gestation, I mean. Skelatal evidence alone cannot clearly show the difference among a Hunter, a Nomad, and a Warriror. However, Explorer skeletons stick out - in a very litteral sense! Wide heads, wide hips, and wide shoulders are typical signs that you are looking at an Explorer. I am not saying that Warriors cannot be bodybuilders, but this one is not a Warrior - in the Genotype sense, that is. |

A good point, Jared.
How about taking the photographs of many of the same gender and same Genotype and "blurring" them together. You could then "look" at the six Genotypes as easily as looking at six individuals and spell out the differences. This might be a helpful prop for starting to understand the Genotype concept. |

I know Doc D himself used Elvis as an example of a G2 in the GTD, but I don't think Elvis was a G2, based on my personal scrutinization of footage since becoming a GTDer. Elvis' lower legs, in particular, and his legs in general, are far too long and his torso is too short to be a Gatherer. Just my two cents. (Note: when I say "too long" and "too short", I mean in relation to each other. His legs are longer than his torso, in other words, and his lower legs, especially, are looooooooooooooonger than his upper legs. |

Hair changes perception. Fashion designers use this fact purposefully.
We have to remember that there is wide variation "within" each Genotype. I am definitely an Explorer - only extreme "Genotyping nerves" made me doubt that (for a short while). Anyone measuring my head would be scratching theirs. My cephalic index is pretty close to the neutral 0.75.
Measuring jaw angle from a picture is also difficult. The picture must be taken perpendicular to the plane of the jaw bone. A picture from any other angle will distort the appearance of the jaw angle, without giving any metric to estimate this distortion. |

Muscular people can also be nomads, with more angled jawlines. Jackie Chan is a nomad and has a larger frame and has larger muscles. If Arnold is blood type B, he could be a nomad.

I bet that President George Washington is a nomad!
One of my closest friends is type AB, stands six foot three inches tall, and weighs in at a heafty 300 pounds. He is fat, (he eats far too much - he does not follow any diet at all, he eats lots of unhealthy stuff.) I bet he is a very fat nomad. |

Here is someone I picture more like a Nomad that grew a lot, the Great Khali. He eats milk, chicken, and eggs. Apparently all day long and in enormous amounts (like up to 5 chickens a day). He also does yoga on top of his weight lifting and walking. (Type B cortisol taming?! It helped him get his game back) http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/pictures/d/dalipsingh/13.jpgAndre was much thinner as a youngster. He did drink a lot (which warriors are not bad at since they process stuff quickly) and also died of a heart attack. His heart had trouble keeping up with his body, true, but it would be more likely to have problems if he were a warrior. http://i712.photobucket.com/al...../Andre69withgirl.jpg |

Yeah, but Andre lacks that "stressed out face" of a Warrior. Haven't met one yet that didn't look stressed to the max in the face. Especially from 45 years old and up. |
