There are several options for making your own food list (which is what many of us "old timers" have done): add in the foods that are on your food plan into a spreadsheet, print it out, and laminate several copies...I carry one in my purse, one in my truck, and one at home, so I can refer to them in all the places I find myself. The benefit to this method is that I get to add or subtract the foods that I *know* I won't eat or that I cannot find in my neck of the woods...

I guess I am the only Warrior in here, since nobody is posting. I wish there were more people and more interaction. I need more support.

Warrior here-- we are only 20% of the A's so we are sort of rare.

What do you need? let us know and we can help.

Dr. D will not post a list of foods--- I think partly because we need to take this into our own hands and learn. He has never been one to spoon feed us.   I think that is the part I love about this.

I need to start creating my own recipes; so since tomato sauce is out of the question, I was thinking white sauce but then milk and cream are out too. What do you use as a substitute for milk, besides the Kefir, which I adore? Secondly, since chocolate is out of the list and I was told that by Chocolate Dr D. meant coco; so what natural sweeteners do you use besides maple? I need to make my own meringue and feel that if I added maple to the egg whites I won’t get my meringues. I do not trust the recipes because some are full of sugar. Is it OK to use whole wheat in bread and to make crackers?

We make a white sauce out of ghee, rice flour, water, mozzarella cheese and if desired - either canned tuna or pre-cooked, diced, turkey.  We use it to top rice pasta, etc...

As long as whole wheat doesn't bother you, it should be OK - per the GTD book Warrior diet.  If you continue to have some issue, you may need to stop wheat intake for a month, then reintroduce it to see whether your specific symptoms go away and return...

On the few occasions that I crave chocolate, I combine unsweetened bakers chocolate with either agave nectar or vegetable glycerin, and a dash of cinnamon. I've used both the microwave oven and a double boiler to do this, then I put the chocolate mixture in the freezer...

I know some people are successful in using Agave (neutral for warriors) to make meringues.

I have been thinking of trying Trehalose in some baking since Dr. D. has suggested that consuming this product might be good for people.  I have not yet tried it.

Thank you ABJoe & Drea for responding to my questions. I am not sure I understand this SWAMI thing all I know is that my measurements, blood type, and genetic profile classify me as a Warrior. I thought warriors were allowed whole grain bread and wheat and that's what I am doing. I love whole wheat bread and it doesn't bother me. I still need to find a good sugar substitute and would like to know if maple sugar is ok to use?

Maple sugar would be somewhat like maple syrup, but as the syrup becomes more concentrated it becomes more like regular sugar.

Maple sugar is about 90% sucrose, the remainder consisting of variable amounts of glucose and fructose.  Regular sugar is 99% sucrose.

Since regular sugar is neutral for warriors and maple syrup is a superfood. Maple sugar is probably someplace between these two.

Expect to pay about $20 per pound if you choose to go the maple sugar route.

I do not know why they do not post the list of foods that are neutral here. I would like to propose for Dr. D'Adamo to post all the food lists and the neutral foods and have people pay a fee to down load.

says to add it to water.....

would high temperatures in baking not affect it?

Quoted Text
Directions: Stir Trehalose powder into water with a squeeze of lemon or mix Trehalose with a beneficial juice. Mixing in a spoonful of ARA will increase its effectiveness. Dr. D'Adamo does not recommend taking Trehalose with green tea or quercetin.

Do you think Doing this SWAMI is essential? I do not understand why should I pay for the measuring Kit and blood test when I already performed it after following the book instruction? I feel it is just a way to make money. Has any one consulted a specialist from the ones listed here. How much do they charge? Won't it be better to consult the specialist and have him do this SWAMI? I am not sure I am liking it. I thought that the book was going to help but it seems Dr. D. is ever creating new ways to make money.

This is your decision.  If you have issues that are not solved by following the book diet, then SWAMI will probably help because of the added data input to be even more individualized.

The book diets are great, but trying to fit everyone into 6 or 8 diets isn't very individualized.  SWAMI provides the additional individuality for those that find it helpful.

Well a "specialist"will cost way more then just doing it yourself.

Dr. D "is ever creating more ways to make money
"?

I guess you have never met him nor know what he is about? I could count the thousands of ways he has given us all a gift that is priceless and asks for nothing in return but a few dollars. Gee most people spend more on Starbucks coffee then on their own personal health.

SWAMI could cost you a thousand dollars if he wanted it to ( and I am certain the someone else would start the price at that level), but for about $100 you get a great eating plan for the rest of your life.

Also pay attention to this site-- it is provided free of charge and you will not find one ad here, not even one for his supplements..

No worries Dr. D does not need our money I am certain he has plenty.

I was not going to Dr. D's Trehalose product, since it contains other ingredients and is formulated to use as a supplement.

I was going to order the straight sugar, which is intended to be used as a sweetener.

My understanding is that Trehalose has good heat stability.  I would not want to pay $10 a pound for it, if it was going to break down into two glucose molecules when cooked.

I e-mailed a specialist and was told he'll charge $75 for the kit and $75 Consultation Fee. I just hope that this will mean he is going to do the tests and hand me my SWAMI. I just do not wish to make mistakes so I am going for someone with the know how.

What are the SWAMI tests? I am not sure what you are talking about-- is he doing a secretor test for that low price?

Are you talking about a breath hydrogen test and a bio impedance test?

Is he/she using SWAMI-pro?

thing is if you use the on line one you will have access to it for the rest of your life if you use a practitioner you will have to go through them every time you want something changed on it.

I need to get precise results and that is why I am seeking the help of a specialist. I thought I still could use the on line service since the source is the same; Dr. D. and since I got the name of the specialist on this site.
I am really so confused and that is why I am seeking the help of a professional.

I was able to get the appointment with a specialist who will do the Swami Express, measurements & ensuing consultation. He says I still can interact with Dr. D. Will see. Is there any tips for me prior to doing this SWAMI thing?

I've been using a salt inhaler for my asthma and I love it!!!

Listen, this is what I think: I think we can't go around measuring our goodness by what we don't do, by what we deny ourselves, what we resist, and who we exclude. I think we've got to measure goodness by what we embrace, what we create, and who we include. Pere Henri (Chocolat)
