I was born with flat feet, little to no arch at all. I ran track and cross country, and my coach always told me my feet "over pronated." Never had injuries though. What does it mean if one is born with flat feet? Is it a biometric thing?
I wonder if i had andric leg bones and arches if i could have run much faster. Also, if i had longer shins than thigh bones. My shins are short compared to my thighs as well. |

 I'm definitely a supinator/under-pronator. |

I thought that was called eversion.
Eversion is the term that describes feet that turn/point outward (imagine how a ballet dancer stands with the feet pointing out). It measures the angle of the feet on a lateral plane (standing on the floor, flat) but doesn't actually deal with the dropping of the arch, although eversion and pronation often go hand in hand (or should I say, foot in foot) |

I have high arches which tend to pronate and I have custom orthotics to correct that (which I rarely wear unless I wear a sneaker or boot). My husband always tells me I should have been a runner and that he wishes he'd known me as a youngster - he would have made sure I became a runner (he was an athlete). My legs are neutral, not particularly gynic or andric. Except that I am overweight so they tend to look more gynic atm. At my correct weight, there is more space between. |

Gynic legs and high arches here. Gynic legs just mean your hips are narrow relative to the size of your thighs and your knees (or your thighs and knees are large relative to your hip width). Knees touching doesn't mean you pronate, nor do high arches mean you supinate - they can, but it can also be just the way you are made. Or as Jessica Rabbit said "I'm just drawn that way" |
