My only advice, Possum, is to choose the one you're closest to, and follow it very strictly for a month or more. Then switch to a different one and follow it for a while. The more strict you are with it the better you'll be able to tell if it was right or not if you change diets. It might be very subtle. When I changed to the Teacher diet for two weeks, the only real changed I could put my finger on was the weight I gained. I didn't feel any different, although at the time I remember thinking my back didn't hurt as much. But I'm a Warrior for sure; thanks to my SWAMI results I now know. |

Has anyone done this? How long does this SWAMI take to do? |

all the details will be given to you once the three months have been achieved.
a detailed questionnaire needs to be filled in, the info submitted and the swami report will then be sent to you..... if you need specific info, call NAP, they will know more. |

Lola-
You also mentioned that we could get a practitioner to do the swami. Right? I asked my ND, the one that had me start the GenoType diet and she said she has never heard of it. What does it take for a ND to be able to preform the SWAMI tests? If my ND can't do it how can I find someone local that can? Is there some sort of practitioner search engine?
Thanks,
Rylie |

your ND if interested might want to attend the next certification in Norwalk!
check the practitioner registry for other certified IFHI practitioners familiar with Dr D s swami program. |

No, Cozzete, you don't have to be a N.D. to be certified, but being certified doesn't make you an N.D. either.
It's great if you find an N.D. who is also certified at the Master's level by Dr. D. That would be a wonderful practitioner to work with! |

Well, that is disappointing(that being certified doesn't make me an N.D.) I already tried to get the one person listed for minneapolis and i left my phone number a couple of months ago and never heard from the person. Anyone know anyone within a day's driving distance of minneapolis?

Yes we have quite a few here. Are you new to the Genotype diet? May want to start your own thread looking for Gatherers rather then tag it here, no one will know you are looking for them. |

I'm a Teacher who thought I was an Explorer for more than a year! I became more compliant recently and realized I wasn't feeling that great--especially in my digestion. I decided to remeasure and discovered I didn't originally measure the seated height properly. I am SO glad I did that!
Now that I'm on the teacher diet, I have found that my watch is fitting much nicer than it had. I was so annoyed that it had gotten tighter in the last year. My digestion, which was really worsening, is getting much better. Thank goodness. I had followed the A diet (secretor) a while back but felt I needed more protein, so I would try different, higher protein things. I am so glad to be back on track. This reemphasizes how certain aspects of the A diet have been important to me. In the last 2.5 years, I strayed the most from the A diet and also consumed more teacher avoids than ever. That is when my digestion got really messed up! |

A's and digestion. I know that mine can be a problem. even after all this time.
I ate Spelt Crepes made with almond milk (from Cook Right) I made myself with a tablespoon of almond milk mixed with hot water, I shook it up in the jar, added it to the crepes, I ate a tiny piece of the crepe, a torn off piece that the kids didn't eat. I had gas pain so severe I could barely stand for 12 hours. The kids ( 20 and 16) had no problem with the crepes, but my poor A Warrior body was a mess. What is the opposite of genoharmonic? |

I have been avoiding all gluten for close to 4 years, I think. I discovered by chance I have celiac disease, although I never even knew I had digestive problems at the time. My main symptom was problems with my nerves. Then I developed diverticulitis a couple of years later--while on a somewhat low carb diet where I ate a lot of veggies that were teacher avoids and also ate too much meat. Finding the teacher diet will hopefully eliminate the difficulties with my digestion that seemed to start back then. It already appears to be working. So I'm feeling some genoharmony right now! It sort of weird to think that something finally might be right for me, diet-wise. |
