I haven't seen any polls like this, so I thought I'd write one . Go ahead and vote for all the women in your household whose genotype you know. |

Whoops, it looks like you can only vote for each genotype once per poll. Sorry for the confusion. |

Either way I've measured it I am a gatherer. At first the index finger were longer now the index on one hand and the ring on the other is longer-still a gatherer. The only problem is I am catching every stinking 'bug' that is going around. Got sick on my drive back east to Fort Bragg, NC. Then got to feeling better then on the last day heading home I got sick again and it is sticking to me real hard. I am trying to minimize any neutrals and the avoids are gone anyway. What else can I do? |

angel, have you looked into the diggestion sups? healing the gut first is essential.... http://www.4yourtype.com/products.asp?dept=12
I second that. The good thing I got out of thinking I was a Nomad was that I went gluten-free for several months, and it healed up my gut. Or at least, my sensitivity to eggs went away, and I think that's a sign of gut healing. |

Dittoes, I eat barley and "normal", gluten-contaminated rolled oats now with no trouble I can discern. I wouldn't object to eating spelt, either (except that it's a black dot), or Ezekiel bread (except that it's sooo expensive)! |

All of my measurements are so so close but with my migraine and anemia issues, it just has to be explorer. My body shape fits it too. The Geno-Calculator (using my measurements) also confirms explorer.
Like RedLilac, I am also waiting for the swami tweek. I already took out the mozzarella and added back some beef. Just had too because I feel better that way. Gotta figure out why my joint pain came back on the gtd and won't go away. It hurts! |

slyparrot, I had joint pain issues when first trying the GTD, and all year have had homelife issues that kept me from focusing more on diet the way I had when I started BTD. Unsure of the cause, I leaned back more toward BTD. Whatever I go with, I'll never leave these systems, BTD saved my bee-hind in a big way. I notice you and I have alot in common, tho I don't know what kind of taster I am yet. We probably have alot of similar food responses. Joint pain theory - nightshade vegetables, increased dairy. I am now in a position to focus more on my diet and responses to changes. |

Can anyone tell me why, when you measure fingers, they are measured on different sides? For a couple of days there after I remeasured my fingers (wrongly...) I had convinced myself I was an explorer???! I think if there was a 'type' in between them both, that's where I would be, as I relate so strongly to issues both types have... However I think I am happy being a gatherer... Really find it very hard to sweat anyway. And rice and lentils are NO substitute for chocolate and cashews (even if the latter are still only black dot status) But....there was popcorn to have occasionally I loooove popcorn) Still, think I'd rather have choc though and I'll satisfy myself with pumpkin seed 'faux popcorn...' |

Here's another one - How come I can strength test for 3 different genotypes, even including Nomad (which comes out at least 5 points higher than Gatherer) And yet there " are no combination types" p104 Genotype Diet...?? Isn't swami kinda combination typing???? I'm confused!! Also what happened to A+an's comment to this thread "19 minutes ago"??? Is it just that they take a while to appear??? And...when I posted yesterday, how come the thread stayed down where it was??? |

Possum 2: I 'strength test' for Nomad high & I think for Explorer, but am a Gatherer. The main thing is the 3 measurements & the BT components(type, rh factor, & secretor status[sometimes]). The strength tests are to confirm or to get a general idea. We are Os so can't be Nomads, but we have certain things in common with them! I know it can be confusing at first, but stay with us!!!! |

I prefer to think SWAMI identifies an individualized type. A computer program generates a personal diet profile based on many factors. The type/diet selected is one of millions of possible types (not just the six listed in the book). Not only are blood type and genotype considered, but also a number of items related to your family's health history are considered in determining a personal diet plan. It may be a matter of semantics but I prefer to think of it that way rather than SWAMI deciding that I am 43% Teacher and 57% explorer. |

Thanks Mrs T 0+ & C_sharp That's what I thought, but thanks for the responses... At least I know now I'm not the only 0 who test strong for Nomad - I thought I was going mad there, esp when it was stronger than the 0 types??!! Don't worry Mrs T; I'm...not...going...any...where... This is like way too much fun and helpful!!! Anyone got any thoughts re other couple questions ???? pls see 2-3 posts back |
