I was reading the ingredients of the Explorer supplements and I love what's in them...for
detoxing...My question to anyone who knows the answer is this:  Would there be anything
wrong with taking a month's worth of Explorer supplements?  Just to help with detoxing?
Or possibly stay on them if I feel good.

So much of me seems like an Explorer in my toxic load and difficulty with totally eliminating
what I've accumulated,  I don't tolerate caffeine like an Explorer...and I'm forever walking
around with a gigantic headache from chocolate...a diamond food... but I'm not an Explorer from  measurements, my rh factor, the fact that I'm right handed. The description of an Explorer
always mystified me because I keep going back and reading the specifics and often want
to say "That's ME!"  I measure and fit the Warrior physical description.  I don't particularly fit the Warrior health profile...and I do not detox well..

I can't see how anything in these Explorer supplements could hurt me....I don't do well
on the Warrior supplements anyway and as many times as I try to take them, they don't
feel right to my body.... I feel so much better on DHA and fish oils (which is what Explorer's
are supposed to take) even if I throw in a a CLA every now and then.

Any thoughts?

I would stick to your genotype because they may mess with your progress.  Just like getting on another genotype's diet, it will only make you sick because you are treating ailments that you do not have.

Chloe, is it possible you're an Explorer?

I have honestly thought I am an exception...I said this this first week I started the Warrior
diet...A Warrior is supposed to look crummy as they age....I looked 15 years younger than
my age before I ever started the diet...and I wasn't on the BTD for very long...I managed
to eat whatever felt right to me for most of my life...and nothing particularly made me crash
and burn like a Warrior..BUT, I've always known myself to be chemically sensitive..The book says "most" Explorers are described in a particular way physically but that's
not me..I do not fit the physical appearance of an Explorer.  I'm built like a Warrior....It's just that my detoxing abilities are  poor....and I'm just awful around chemicals
and have been sensitive most of my adult life......I eat chocolate and get a headache...I can drink coffee in the morning and can't sleep that night...My whole body starts shaking from caffeine and stimulants...I don't even tolerate wine....alcohol makes me feel weird and sweaty....and it's a serious depressant to my mood...and I've known this and feel this even though I've followed the Warrior diet for so many months, there's a missing link.

Could I BE an Explorer?  Not by the description or by the measurements in the book...Not by
the shape of my head, or my fingerprints,or  my leg length or anything physical.  BUT, by my
acute sensitivity to chemicals, odors, food preservatives and just about anything that isn't
purely clean, the first time I read the Genotype book and the description of an Explorer's
issues, I said to myself "that's ME"...Only when I measured, it wasn't me...I measured as a
Warrior...

I will call NAP and see what they have to say...but ever have a gut instinct about something?
Something that is either completely wrong or completely right for you?  In my heart of hearts,
I want to take those Explorer supplements and not the Warrior ones....I've tried over and
over again to take the Warrior supplements and they just feel wrong.  Yet, the Warrior diet
feels right.   This has been a dilemma for me from the start.

I feel we all need to detox and reset our genes no matter which genotype we are.

I truly believed I was a Hunter....an 'O' type O, a true dead set O.  I loved the foods on the Hunter diet and I naturally was heading that way with food choices.  I started eating the superfoods before my book arrived from overseas and felt really good!

I fast track tested with the advanced tables to Explorer.  I thought it must be wrong....it was so the opposite to what I was eating which made me feel good.  The delta loop only confirmed what I didn't want.

I started the Expl. diet and have felt terrible for months but persisted due to the genes in our family.  It is only now, way down the track do I feel the benefits only just starting to appear.

If I had gone where I 'thought' I should have been, my genes would not be resetting and I would not  be getting any benefits of the GTD as a whole ...... probably have been better off on the BTD.

Sensitivity is only one aspect of Explorer and I don't think detoxing will take this away

Shells, that is a fantastic testimonial.

Chloe, you may just be a Warrior with detox/liver issues. A SWAMI may be just the thing.

Is there a way that you go see the docs and get GTD? You live close like me. It's not as expensive if you see one of the other ones instead of Dr. D.
I'm like you, except I can drink coffee..not too much, it can make me irritable, nervous and can trigger anxiety. I can tolerate a glass of wine but I found out only one type so far...pinot noir. The other types trigger a 2 day migraine. I also feel a little depressed..Wine does that. It's a depressant.  I ask Dr. D the same question if I could be an Explorer because I have so many intolerances. That was the reason I went to see HIM to get genotyped. I was so confused between Teacher, Explorer or Warrior. But one thing that made me suspect I was a Warrior was that my favorite foods were on the Warrior diet, even though I love cheese, I know I don't do well if I eat a lot of it..(for my whole adult life I knew that)and even the Teacher diet didn't look right..Forget the Explorer diet! OMG, it (sorry Explorers, you probably feel the same about my diet) actually repulsed me. So I asked Dr. D and he said, "No, you're just a Warrior with sensitivities". That also could be you Chloe, just a Warrior with sensitivies.

Also, what about the attributes? He said everything is opposite with Explorers, left handed.. (if you watch his youtube video) My sister could actually be an Explorer since she loves meat so much. She was born left handed, and my mom made her use her right hand!  Another thing Chloe, was that I had DVT and Warriors have thick blood.  My blood clots fast. I was told by an MD that I had a clotting disorder which caused the DVT... How's your blood?

If you are an "exception" then, you need all the more to go to the Clinic to get a personalized supplement program and a SWAMI. It would be better than trying to diagnose yourself.   Think of the peace of mind..

I agree Diana....I might just be a sensitive Warrior.  I always have major issues when seasons
change...There is a person locally who is IFHI certified.  Waiting for that office to get Swami
for Genotypes.  I've been on a wait list to be called when it's operating. So, I will start there..
just to make sure I'm measured correctly and following the right diet...

I was an anemic child and was always fed liver and marrow bones. (two Explorer superfoods)
Last blood work showed I had  low ferritin levels..

A clinic visit is always an option.

As for liking the Warrior foods, I mostly do...But if I wasn't allergic to dairy, I think I'd love
to be living on cheese.

If I could choose my favorite foods to eat, this would be my  diet..(don't laugh..... a lot
of these foods would be disgusting eaten together)....

First food that would be on my list of favorites would be potatoes....I LOVE potatoes..

then, ...any kind of cheese, nuts, garlic, sauerkraut, liver with onions, raspberries, halvah (ground sesame seeds & honey), eggs (yolks only)  chicken soup, rye bread, peas, corn,
lobster, crab.

Well, I can dream, can't I!

Shells, you wrote the most brilliant post ever..It resonated with me so strongly that even
after I posted, I pondered what you said....I walked into my kitchen, opened my Genotype
book to the Warrior diet food list...decided that you're absolutely correct in saying that
we're resetting our genes...and that I would not be getting benefits of the GTD if I don't
perservere...

SO, I'm resetting my mind right now...making another list of diamond foods and superfoods
and attempting to cancel out all I know, believe and remember about my prior food allergies,
sensitivities and negative thoughts people have instilled in me about what kinds of foods
I tolerate. (or don't)

There's something very negative about ever having been allergy tested...It left me with a list
of reactive foods that I keep avoiding, even though that testing was done 20 years ago...
I have to keep remembering that my goal is to reset my genes...and to focus on that one and
only POSITIVE thought and keep it in my awareness no matter what else I think I know.

OK, I'm reprogramming myself as I write...

After I re-read your post, I opened my refrigerator, suspended my OLD and useless
beliefs about being allergic to eggs....now looking at these beautiful free range eggs
and foods my body needs... my repairing foods...my genetic repair foods....And I grabbed my
ghee, made some eggs in ghee....toasted a piece of brown rice bread.....made coffee
with half decaf and half regular....decided I WILL be able to tolerate it all....thrive on it..
because I believe in the Genotype diet more strongly than before.

Your post was my booster shot...my re-awakening...I was just having a bad day...thinking
negatively, but I know I measure as a Warrior and what would be the point in taking supplements for another Genotype..

I then opened a cabinet where I pushed my Warrior supplements to the back...I reached
for them....got my glass of water...stared at those pills and said to myself "THESE are
good for me"...I swallowed them confidently....I AM a Warrior....I'm just needing to reset
my genes...and it might be long and slow but this is my one and only goal...

Perhaps I've been avoiding the very foods I need to eat....sensitive or not....eventually my
body will accept the entire Warrior diet...

I will not anticipate what I used to anticipate....having a negative reaction to foods some
allergist tested me for and told me to avoid...I will throw that list away...and only follow
the Warrior diet...

I am preparing myself to succeed...because I truly believe I will!

A new beginning for me!
